I agree, both Silva & Jones should want this fight to reach for greatness, true greatness.

White is the master puppeteer who writes the scripts and directs the storyline. He'll continue to use his assets to their very best advantage.

Just to be pedantic, I don't think It's physically possible to fold anything into a ball...but if anyone can do it, Jones can....

Jones has great wrestling but his approach is not the same as Sonnens. When Jones got Machida, Rampage etc down then awesome but both guys showed you can stand up against him and you can stuff a takedown.

This isn't about Sonnen vs Jones. It's about their different approaches to wrestling.

No, I think their approaches are different. When Jones puts hands on you then he is great but he isn't wreckless in going for a takedown and keep charging through. Few guys do that in MMA but it can be so effective.

Silvas not amazing at stuffing a takedown but Jones isn't as aggressive with it as we think. Once he is on top of you, he is awesome but MAchida and Rampage showed you do have stand up time against him where as Sonnen in his last 2 bouts against guys he knew he couldn't stand with showed there is little stand up time with him.

Silva is the third biggest draw in the UFC behind Brock and GSP.

Most people right now class Anderson as the best p4p in the world. Jones is the only guy who has a shot at beating him. Anderson will be retired after a few fights so what will it matter if he loses?

If Bones loses, then he was young, and lost to the most skilled fighter in MMA history

The fight would be great for hardcore fans and make a fortune for Zuffa

Theres no point in not having this fight - historically or financially

Jones and the guy who took him down effortlessly five times, never let him get back on his feet once, and kept him on his back eating punches and elbows for 23 minutes straight.

I think that guy has a shot at beating Silva.

I might get drunk twice a year. Maybe.

And I have read the thread. Jones is not the only guy out there who poses a significant threat to Anderson. :bart

So we cant use the alcohol excuse for you any more Haggis?

You are wrong here. Jones most definitely IS the only guy who poses a legit thread to Anderson

But so long as there are fans like you who believe otherwise (and there are many) then the UFC can continue to sell pathetic Anderson mismatches up to the point he retires

Get Silva's nuts out of your mouth for half a second.

The only reason why you dismiss Sonnen's chances is because you are afraid that he will embarrass Silva.

The guy was 2 minutes away from winning 5-0 on all cards, including two 10-8 rounds. He even got the better of Silva in the standing exchanges and knocked him down with his fists in the opening minute of the fight.

But sure, he has no chance to do it again. :patsch Sore ribs, roids etc, we know the excuses.

Styles make fights, and mindset helps a lot as well. Sonnen has a style that is Kryptonite for Anderson, and he has 100% total self-belief in his ability to win every minute of every round. Anderson knows it too.

  15. Anderson is ducking that much is true, the guy takes safe fights and wants to keep his record in tact. He knows that a loss will lower is legacy by a huge amount, the same with Jon Jones I guess. Dana White is keeping both his money men apart to milk them.

These two men arent too much far apart in weight, its not like getting outweighed by 60-90lbs by the other fighter.

Come on Dana, sto bullshitting about making fights that people want happen. Clearly, people want to see this fight. So make it happen.
