Note: the bout between Andrade & George may be canceled. There are unconfirmed rumors of a last-minute contract dispute and George throwing a hissy fit that culminated in refusing to compete as scheduled in the main event.

Thompson vs. Camano is about to start. This might be the main event if Andrade vs. George was indeed canceled. We'll see. (the commentary is in Spanish)

Sergio Thompson vs. Julio Camano - 10 rounds @ super featherweight.

This may or may not have been promoted to the the main event.

 

Round 1

Reckless flurrying exchanges, with Thompson landing the right hand over the top and some heavy hooks ot the body. Camano is chopping his way in with jabs and wide rights. Good right hand lead by Thompson, settling down into a rhythm on the outside. Camano gets atop him and pushes him to the ropes. Hard hooks to the body by Thompson. Exchange, and Camano lands a hook upstairs. Wild yo-yo shots by Thompson. Camano leans against him with both gloves tightly gripping a shoulder.

Round 2

Camano is slugging away with high undisciplined left and right missiles and some torpedoes to the body. Thompson is bashing at will with his 1-2 to the head, hook to the body, and a fall-in overhand right. Just a wild ride with these two. Thompson is the only one really committed to defense, and only barely. Hands are vaguely up near his face and catching some of Camano's telegraphed jabs and rights. Big left hooks to the body by Thompson, betraying his intentions but landing anyway unhindered.

Round 3

Thompson is hooking freely, putting hard rights out there for Camano to plainly see incoming but with no attempts on Julio's part to stem the flow. Camano keeps trying to match Thompson punch for punch, despite being clearly overpowered. Thompson gets him up by the ropes and batters him to the canvas with an extended barrage (including at least one very hard rabbit punch) and it is immediately waved off with no count as Camano sits on his butt, dazed.

They are showing a 4-rounder from the undercard on tape delay, I believe.

I didn't catch the names.

Bottom line, it isn't Librado Andrade vs. Donovan George.

I'm too pissed off about the main event seemingly being called off over some niggling fit-pitching to do a proper RBR for this one.

It's a nice little war, though.

 

HDLC is a fat ****er, but he hits like a mule.

Carrillo's face is busted up, and they are on very even terms halfway through the second.
