He is clearly the best SMW on the planet TODAY. He beat a slow-mo 34 Froch like we all expected. He should now step up and fight the likes of Nathan Cleverly ! :happy
ah stfu. now all of a sudden froch is slo-mo 34 year old? nope wards gonna stay at sm and handle that fraud bute first
You think so?:huh:huh:huh Bute glass jaw Romanian? Better than a 175 6'3" true LHW, young fast calzaghes protege?atsch
What about at 160? Could he make the weight and take on Martinez without being to drained? Is he big enough to make 175?
Ward at 175 has only Cloud(who isn't getting any attention) and Pascal. Ward said as well as Hopkins that they won't fight each other. Cleverly and Shumenov are nothing special, and they look more like prospects than champions. The fact that Pascal who lost to Froch was the DIVISION Ring CHAMPION and that Eduard Gutknecht who lost to Stieglitz is ranked very high tells us much about the talent in the LHW division Ward at 168 has Bute, Kessler, Andre Dirrell all of them much better than Cleverly.
I say 2 fights at 168, then he moves up. The two fights being Dirrel (Andre) and Bute. Then Pascal and Dawson up at 175. For some reason I see Pascal's style giving him trouble, but he must improve his stamina.
Why would he move up? There are much better fights available at 168, and he's a small super middleweight to begin with. I suspect he'd be better off moving down to 160, if it makes sense, than moving up to 175. Ward doesn't have much power, reach or chin. Moving up can only be a bad thing.
bute has the punch and the punch technique to give ward problems. but the fight would be in joke land and he would lose a points decision.
