Ward is better than Calzaghe, would beat Calzaghe, and will soon be the #1 SMW ever.

    dream on.

    calzaghe would beat this ward.
if ward continues to improve, in a few years you could argue this.

    right now calzaghe > ward

You do know a Prime Roy Jones fought at SMW right..... and you do know what a Prime RJJ would do to Ward correct ?????

But props to Andre Ward for being the best SMW right now. He has a ton of skill but will never be a prime RJJ.

Hopkins, very rightfully so, is very careful with the fights he picks nowadays. I don't see him being in any rush to fight Ward. It won't be easy for him.

I always questioned Calzaghe's ability and everything else about his career, but he just kept on winning whether underdog or not, Kessler, RJJ, Hopkins and all of the rest, he schooled Kessler and thrashed Lacy, he kept on winning and retired perfect. If Ward and Kessler ever fight and Kessler wins which is highly probable, maybe others will look differently on Calzaghe's like I do.

Give him Bute, winner of Kessler/Steiglitz (Kessler 2), and other guys like Dirrel and Pavlik, and he'd be the undisputed champion with basically every meaningful name in the division on his resume.

Perhaps a middleweight champ (not named Sergio Matinez, as I don't see him moving up) too, and I think he'd make a strong case as the greatest SMW ever.

Calzaghe was a good fighter, perhaps HOF, but certainly not ATG. His title as the greatest SMW ever is certainly not solid and unbreakable.

I'd still pick a prime Jones and Toney to beat Joe H2H at the weight.

WTF do you have to smoke to come up with this. Are you having trouble remembering when Ward and Kessler did fight?

I've come to the conclusion that most Calazaghe fans are too brain damaged by alcohol abuse to be properly in touch with reality

    :huh

Ward beats Kessler 10 times out of 10. Maybe 99 times out of 100, giving Kessler that slight chance.

Oh god . . . Hopkins could beat Ward but i wouldnt watch the fight . . . just imagine it. Hopkins comes in with the head - Ward comes in with the head . . . fight is ruled a technical draw after both fighters are rendered unconcious from "accidental" headbutts

Only Klitschko fans top Calzaghe fans when it comes to insane, totally illogical nut hugging.

Calzaghe at his best beats the current Ward. Ward will go on to have the better career though.
