Who punches harder: Sven Ottke or Andre Ward?

    Sven Ottke and Andre Ward

    These two fighters have a lot in common:

    -amateur achievements
    -refuse to leave their home country to fight as pros
    -undefeated
    -excellent defensive skills
    -light punchers: they win decisions rather than stop their opponents
    -Sven had a home ref against Reid & Andre had a home ref against Kessler

    Who is the harder puncher? They seem about the same to me.

    Joe man your usually spot on with your post but your way out in left field

    on this on, Ward hits harder and is a way better fighter then Sven.

    Lucian Bute KOed Edison Miranda, Andre Ward went the distance.

    You don't see the exciting KOs from Ward that you see from Bute.

    Exactly how is he better?

    Sven Ottke has wins over a lot of good fighters in the amateurs and the pros, such as Chris Byrd, Zsolt Erdei, and Antonio Tarver.

    Ottke doesn't deserve to be named anywhere near Ward as far as boxers go.

    Haha come on now none of that, Sven wouldnt leave germany if

    the world was ending and his amature career was great but as a pro

    he more then any modern fighter in recent memory had more hometown

    decision then anyone else i can recall. Ward has a great amature

    background two and has a gold medal from the olympics to show for it,

    and Ward resume stacks up alot better then Sven's right now and Andre

    Just getting started

    Well, at least Joe had title defenses in other countries: Germany, Scotland, Denmark, and England.

    Why did Ward refuse to leave the US during the Super Six? Was that fair to the others? Will he fight Bute in Montreal, where it would draw 20,000 fans? I think not.

    Ward and Ottke are very similar in many ways.

    I hear what your sayin and Ward is very protected, it was fair to everyone

    else he wanted the advantage and he bitched nd cryed to he got it. He

    wont fight Bute in Montreal we all know that but for his legacy i think the

    fight will happen. And just for the record this American is a Bute fan

    not a Ward fan i just think Ottke was a coward and Ward just a baby
