donaire has dominated 3 weight classes, ward only 1. Were talking p4p here just because he's the best in one weight class doesn't make him top 5 p4p. I would like to see a catchweight fight against Martinez or a catchweight fight with Dawson, see how he matches up to more intelligent boxers. hell I still want to see a Dirrell fight when andre gets back into it.

:patsch so you can't be a top p4p fighter unless you move up in weight. Is cleaning out a division not enough anymore

p4p means at different weight classes..or has that changed...not saying he's not gonna reach top 5 p4p..I just don't jump to assumptions till it actually happens. Ward is going to be very hard to beat for anyone....he is just too smart and safe in the ring.

He doesn't have to change weight classes to be ranked higher. That's not in the rule and never has been. Hagler was p4p number 1 for years and stayed at MW his whole career. Brush up on your history.

Also read the whole thread to see I'm not biased in favor of Ward.

    I'm speaking hypothetically.

hagler was number one because p4p is a popularity contest. not biased....your middle name should be biased

    Not in my book..
p4p is a ranking across all the weight classes, winning belts, beating world class guys or simply dominate the division will get you on the p4p list.
But of course, jumping in weight to take on the best guys in multiple divisions + being multiple times title holder in several weight classes, will get you far in p4p ranking..
    Just my opinion though..

I don't see how you rank him ahead of JMM, no way.

Truly the smartest boxers on earth. Their ring IQ is ridiculous. I'd probably include the Klits too but they don't get tested intensively enough to prove it.

Sergio has done more in the last 3 years than Ward imo, people are rating Froch, AA, and Kessler too high, they are simply more known, not a level above Martinez's best wins.
