Ward says Bute needs to beat an A level guy to earn a shot.

Bute beat Ward's toughest opponent far easier than Dre did so yeah, that's that. He also outperformed Ward vs. Miranda and Froch vs. Magee, Johnson. The only reason he's yet to face a Super 6 elite is because he wasn't invited. Now however Ward has no S6 obligations anymore, so let's see if he takes on Bute, the Romanian is ready.

Ward has to fight him. He can get away with having one fight first, but after that he will start looking like he's scared.

Why Ward wouldn't fight him at present is a bit baffling.

I'm sorry but what's Bute done to earn a shot? Ward's just beat the cream of the division in the super 6 whilst Bute's feasted on cans. He happens to hold a version of the world title but he should fight a Dirrell or someone to earn a shot at the top man in the division.

The simple fact that the media talks about a Bute vs. Ward bout should be more than enough to make the fight happen. I'm now starting to think they are afraid of him and, after what I saw last night, they should be.

Everyone in boxing bussiness wants to unify as many belts as possible, but no, Ward doesn't want the IBF SMW belt because, catch this: the guy (Bute) isn't near his class. Well, Mr. Ward, then fight him and prove it by putting Bute in his place. Everyone can talk, but when things get heated up they bail. Andre Ward may have two well deserved belts at 168, but his attitude is rather undaring.

BTW, poor match if you ask me, a no-strenght Ward got a wide UD over a no-skill Froch. Nothing impressive. I'm sure that a no-experience L.Bute will beat them both in 10 rounds maximum, but that's just me. I can count the real power punches landed by both Ward and Froch with the fingers of just one hand. Lucian Bute lands that many in one or two rounds. Let's get real please, Bute is one tough opponent. Why doesn't Ward admit to that and fight him so that we, as boxing fans, can have the fight we want, beats me.

If I were to guess why doesn't Ward want a bout with Bute, I would say that Andre Ward realises that, by fighting Bute, he may very well end up losing really quickly what he has just earned last night. Just by looking at Lucian Bute's vast arsenal of shots we see that the romanian/canadian can come up with some powerful shots. A match with Bute right now is a gamble no one is willing to take.

So what did Dirrell do to earn the shot.
Lost to Froch and won a DQ over Abraham by being Knocked-Out ?

Suits me. Still I usually use birth/bring-up place, no moving or 2nd citizenship makes one lose it's national identity, which is Romanian for Bute. But the great support he's receiving makes him Canadian at heart so Romanian-Canadian is probably for the best. :thumbsup

The whole "who did you fight to allow you to fight me" is already a classic tactic to avoid someone. The fact is there are two top level fighters in SMW bussiness today: Ward and Bute. The problem is one, for some reason, does not want to fight the other.

Andre Ward just cut off any possible negociations with Bute's camp from the start and his reason would make a dying lungh cancer pacient laugh. That is the point.

    at people defending this

If Bute hasn't earned a shot then who's worthy and who do you expect him to fight instead?
