Notice how easy it is for people to hate on God. If he had just thanked his trainers nothing would be mentioned. This is a huge display of God's grace to allow people to say stupid things about him. God is great. Btw Jesus is Lord.

    :patsch

I am never disturbed by people emphasising their atheism. Why are atheists annoyed if religious people confess their religion? Are you frustrated or something?

He seems a decent, likeable, humble guy to me.

Maybe because trainers play a far more important (and real) role than a magical sky genie. I guess God was too busy watching the fight to prevent that typhoon in the Phillipines eh?

Arrogance? LOL. If you knew anything about the bible, or being a christian you'd know that we are all God's childrens, god loves us, God created us, (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whoever shall beleive in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life".... This is the meaning of Christmas.
God sent Jesus to die for your sins (jesus was born on Christmas), for your wrong doings... He was substituted for you. So God created you, and redeemed you (payed for having fellowship with you).
Christian life isn't a bunch of rules, and regulations either. Just as that scripture (john 3:16) I typed... It says that whoever beleives in HIM (jesus) has everlasting life. All you have to do is accept, and beleive that Jesus died for you, confess your sin, and make him your savior, and you go to heaven (that's the whole everlasting life part)

In the bible it says "You can do nothing apart from God". This means the breath you take was from God, the fact that you can walk and others can't is a blessing, everything you do.. Even the little things that you take for granted comes from God. So, NO, Andre Ward is not thanking God for the victory exactly, he is thanking God that he's alive, he's healthy, that he's saved, he's skilled, etc.

Because something is opposed to our comfort doesn't mean its bad. Take boxing for example. The training is tiring and painful but can have great rewards. If you don't believe in God please don't disrespect him. Whether you know it or not he exists. God is to be reverenced and respected.
