Arum has more of a history with being vindictive to a fighter who leaves him and goes on to bigger better things....wonder why him and Oscar are on the outs?

Its more Arum than Floyd and his actions in this Pac fight are very clear....hell he even implied he didnt want Haymon or GBP involved in the fight...you dont think that will be a road block?

Here is what i really think though...there is a lot of money at stake...so i dont believe Arum wont make the fight...but rather is killing two birds with one stone.

He has effectively milked Pac and is milking Pac for more millions even with a shytty contract....and at the end of the line is the huge lump sum (floyd/pac). Arum is in no rush to lose this large of a cash cow....his last cash cows...Floyd left, Oscar left....you think he is willingly going to just let this one go to one of the ones who he feels betrayal?

Any other promoter and this fight gets made a long time ago.

i dont think Cotto/Floyd would have been anywhere as big as Pac/Floyd.....In honesty i give pac more a chance to beat Floyd than Cotto....Cotto is not that good but is a decent fighter. If your a boxing fan i think most knew the outcome of that fight.

STFU Cotto was not a ppv draw his biggest wins where again Paulie, Zab, and Shane(which was a month before the hatton fight), Floyd was coming off of 2 of the highest selling PPV in recent history. Hatton Floyd 12-2007 Cotto Marg 07-2008(not to mention he fought Gomez April of 08). People wasnt calling for a cotto fight until floyd retired and went and made $20mil on WWE then it was "Oh floyds ducking Cotto" **** doesnt bother me because Round 10 or 11 We would of seen Cotto takin his famous "I Quit" knee....FOH

if you're a boxing fan, you would have hoped for this fight to happen rather than settle on a fantasy result.

I dont think anybody doesnt want any of these fights to not happen its the simple fact us as fans know this is boxing so we want to see the best fight the best while at the same time the fighters see it as a business and want to make the best business deals while fighting IMO

Manny should just retire and do his political thing.
He is well liked and an all time great who has done things no one else has and will always be respected and remembered for greatness.

It's just a matter of time before Mayweather gets his ass kicked. The only thing May has going for him is his cherry picked undefeated record. He is thoroughly disliked by most people, as are his trainers, and once he loses, he will be written off as a cherry picking hype job and forgotten. He, like RJJ, likely won't know how to stay quit once that happens. I predict that Mayweather will be knocked out multiple times and will end up as a finally exposed bore of a fighter that no one will even remember save for the negatives and the embarassment all around.

what they fail to realize....and its not just one fighter who does this...ALL fighters once they reach a certain point look for maximum money and good opponents...people have to understand most these fighters have paid their dues well before we knew of them or decided to like or dislike them....they fought for a couple hundred or thousands.

cotto has proven that he is a draw right in the margarito and pacquiao fight. cotto was always big in NY and has a puerto rican fan base. all these cotto is a non-draw excuse from ellerbe and floyd's camp is BS. floyd has no problem fighting guys like baldomir and judah before and he has no problem fighting guys like marquez and ortiz.

also people in ESB and other boxing sites are calling heavily for mayweather-cotto back then after cotto had just beaten mosley and floyd had just beaten hatton in late 2007. floyd retired in the mid-part of 2008.

If the negotiation style has been a war of attrition mayweather will eventually win it. Its only a matter of time arum lets his boy fight for a smaller chunk of change. Whether or not floyd deserves it is something differant

there is no definite outcome in boxing. that is if you are watching it as a boxing fan and not as a nuthugger of a certain fighter.

    "Secret negotiations"

    A little bit of paraphrasing
Ellie: "Do you think there will be a fight between Floyd and Manny"
    Roger: "I hope so"
Ellie: "What is it going to take for that to happen"
Roger: "A 100 mil" Roger you sill mofo

Then there is a short clip of Manny and Roger blurs something out again.

Roger: "I dont know what its gonna take but i hope the fight happens"
    0:42 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CIKedIMYFu4

    Its clear he was joking
    :blurp

sure if that what makes you sleep at night...

fact is yes all fighters have a punchers chance

fact also is there are fighters not on the same level as other fighters

fact is Cotto has never been on that level of Floyd

again every fight...EVERY fight we try to guess who wins by a number of things and analyze a fight....in this fight for me...im speaking soley opinion...Cotto would get his ass whooped and its pretty clear for me to see at any point in Cotto's career.

You dont have to be a "nuthugger" to decide who you think wins the fight....if you thought Cotto could beat him cool...im sure you have your reasons and im sure you would watch the fight looking for him to use the tactics you said would win him the fight....doesnt make you a nuthugger...because i mean im sure you watched Pac fights figuring he would win that fight...your not a nuthugger of pac are you?
