Ward is better than Calzaghe, would beat Calzaghe, and will soon be the #1 SMW ever.

Pretty funny how Ward has pretty much already equaled or surpassed Joe C at 168 (minus the title defense streak...well, that Ottke did at the exact same time as Joe C...so maybe not). Just says a lot about Joe C. He was fine staying at home beating poofs. Shame. Joe C had the talent to go much further IMHO.

I was rooting for Froch actually last night. I just enjoy his fights a little more. But I am sold on Ward. this was a huge tourny win for him. Good win, good tourny. good for boxing!

I dont like Ward, but fair play to him.... I like Froch and i wanted him to win he's a throwback fighter, he should of been mixing it up in 15 rounders 25 years ago, shame..

Calzaghe's longevity still bears some weight. Especially strictly at SMW.

In terms of quality of opposition, Ward is well on his way, and Ward is young, so if he stays at the weight and keeps fighting quality guys..............

I don't think Calzaghe has a 2 year run of fighting the quality of opposition that Ward has.

I don't see anyone on Calzaghe's resume that Ward couldn't beat, but the same is true of the reverse.

Head to head, I think it would be close. I'd favor Calzaghe.

I just do not get how the same people who are calling Froch garbage and a **** fighter are using Wards win over him to say he is the best Super Middleweight ever.

 

Calzaghe would have beaten Ward head to head also Calzaghe currently has a better resume than Ward, what Ward goes onto achieve is to be seen, the book on Ward is yet to be written, Wards win over a 34 year old limited Carl Froch is not that great a win, Froch having a relatively weak record at the top level [Froch wins at the weight dont have many Super Middleweight titles between the lot of them, unlike Joe Calzaghe who's victims had held many Super Middleweight titles].
