So can I take it that you do not see Anselmo Moreno as the mini Sweet Pea?

    No, I don't.

I considered him one of the most overrated fighters in the sport(scraped by Cermeno, Monshipour, etc but still received puzzling degrees of praise) for quite a time, however, I do believe him to be one of the more improved fighters in the last 6 months or so. That said I'll wait until he has a fight that isn't against the style that's most suited to him as Darchinyan's was before actually judging him.

I tend to agree, never get ahead of yourself based upon one performance, especially one where the matchup was stylistaclly stacked in their favour.

With Mares needing to take a mandatory against some South African, I would quite like to Moreno take on someone established like Mijares or Cazares and see how he does. Then the winner can take on Mares in a unification fight in the Summer.

    All pre-fight, unfortunately.

(shadow boxing and padwork at it's best from 2:55 in the final vid:D)

Why do those no good kids who've probably never even thought of making a build-up thread for the guy get Mijares' autograph while I'm stuck here wanking to every fight of his I own on a loop every day while praying that one day I may obtain as little as one of his hair folicles?

    I mean, erm.............

    Hello...

A highlights video of the card is all that's come up to my knowledge thus far. Pretty insane action from the looks of things, Salido-Haya in particular looked extremely frantic. Mijares-Valdez starts at 2:50, we can't really glean much from it aside from the fact that Diamante had some real moments of quality and that his work for the stoppage was IMMENSE. The combo he dropped Alejandro with.........:scaredas:

Did Mijares just throw a shot as his opponent tried to touch his glove... again?

Where, after the knockdown? I don't think so, if he was it certainly wasn't as blatant as the Kawashima one. I didn't defend him there, it was a proper ***** move, but this just seemed like he was trying to bring his right hook up from an awkward angle. I can't remember seeing anyone hold their hand that low when offering to touch gloves.

Jpab's post on Moreno's overratedness (can't be a word) reminds me...

Monshipour was a terrific little fighter. What the **** happened to him?

Retired after the Sithchatchwal brawl in '06, must have taken a lot out of him. Returned 3/4 years later taking on pretty sub-standard opposition and looking ok in the process before just falling short of defeating Moreno and retiring again. Prime Mahyar beats Moreno handily.
