Would you say Floyd Mayweather Junior is the CURRENT linear welterweight champion?

HE won it from Baldomir then retired vacating it, the top3 were then Cotto, Margarito, Mosley (Well maybe Williams too but he moved up). Mosley became lineal and then lost to FMJ

Mayweather was stripped from his lineal title after blatantly ducking Miguel Cotto , Paul Williams and there might be some merit about him ducking Pacquiao as well (2-3 years ago) .
Mayweather is a fraud like most of d "champions" throughout history .
Pacquiao is a fraud himself (so don't think im biased) but less of a fraud than Floyd (it is a gradual attribute) .

As far as I see it marg took the crown when he beat cotto; cotto had just beaten mosley (who was ranked 2) and williams had just moved up (i think he was 3). Which left cotto (1) v marg (now number 3).

Marg lost to mosley who despite being inactive repeatedly tried making fights with pac, cotto and berto. Mosley lost to floyd who did go inactive but never retired and beat ortiz 15 month later so technically I suppose i'd still class him as a lineal titlist but I don't begrudge the ring not recognising him at present because i'm not really a fan of inactive champions.

Interms of my personal view floyd is the best ww out there on an interim basis which means I pretty much see whoever he fights next as the fight to crown the best ww in the world.

Of course not. He retired. If he wants it again, he needs to do it the hard way and win it back. The only way to do that is to fight the other best WW in the world -and that's "the little guy."

Yeah, as far as I know the defintion of a lineal Championship is someone who doesn't hold a real title and fights maybe once a year if we are lucky....

Lineal can not be stripped, a lineage is created when 1 and 2 fight. Cotto-Margarito created a new lineage and Mosley took if from Margarito

    Cotto and Margarito weren't 1 and 2.
