Whitakers movement and counterpunching ability would pose hell for Manny.

Man why do people have to compare Pac to guys like Pernell? Pernell is 10x the fighter that JMM is! Pac does better against fighters who will come forward or stand and trade. Bad match-up for Pac., he loses by a wide margin.

BTW, Pernell schoolled Oscar and JCC . . . but like they said to JMM "its only business!"

Seriously not worth talking about. Pernell wins 12 rounds. Manny would be lucky to win 3 or 4 rounds. At 147 Pea was not at his best. At 135, Manny seriously struggles to win one round.

Do you realize that Pernell is stylistically one of the worst matchups for Pacquio

Pac beats everyone in real life as *******s say. Only JMM has the super secret formula and style to beat the old/new Pac or give him trouble. A high mileage Morales beat him.. But Pac was still green then. The rematch against the weight drained skeletor Morales he was coming into his prime. I know, I know.. He beat Morales before JMM 2 where he lost on most people scorecards but hey, he has the super secret formula of counterpunching at super weird angles and movement that throws off Pac's great defense. No way can any other fighter counter punch as good and hard as Marquez to get Pac's respect. Pac by KO.

Pea is a nightmare for pac. Pac is at his best when fighters are come forward slow handed fighters.

The problem is pea like mayweather would use what pac does best against him by allowing pac to lead with his jump in combos and catch him coming in. Pac would become confused and a sitting duck. Pac has never shown a plan B which is why he had so much trouble with jmm.

After a few close early rounds pea would start to dominate pac and win easy going away.

I kind of agree with this.

I'm thinking 116-111. I could see Pac scoring a flash knockdown early, then slowly get dominated down the stretch.

Pernell imo loses to alot of elite offensive minded fighters with skill. Whitaker just was'nt overall effective offensively in his fights with both Chavez and DLH. Defensively he was great against them, but offensively he did'nt put out effectively.
Guaging jabs just dont cut it.

Pacquiao however I dont equate as being a really skilled fighter, and so I think Pernell Whitaker would exhert enough offensively and really embarass him.

Pernell dishes out a 10-2 schooling and loses by split decision on the scorecards.
