How do you create you list and who is your top ten?

To me P4P means if two guys are the exact weight who would win. You would have to adjust the boxers attributes according to the increase or decrease in weight. for example, if a fighter goes up in weight his hand speed would slow down and quickness would diminish. Conversely, increase weight (if not over weight) can mean more stamina, punch resistance, and power. The one variable that does not change is skill. I do not put a heavy weight on a boxers record outside of the fact that it is a gauge of the fighters skills. In theory the best fighter on the planet may have never set foot inside of the squared circle. Given the criteria above my P4P list looks likes the following:

    1) PBF: Guy could be #1 until he hangs it up for good or father time catches up
    2) Pac: Had him tied for the top for a while but number 3 gives him fits
    3) JMM: Beaten badly by Number 1 but has the style to cause #2 fits (not number 2 because he could not beat the fighters that Pac has)
    4) Donaire: Excellent run against some top notch fighters, did not look the best against a fighter who was in it to survive in his last fight
    5) Serg: tough outing last fight, question is did he ruin Pwill or was Pwill already on a slide? That KO of the previous durable Pwill? I think Pwill's detioration can be traced back to the Margocheato fight (you figure it out)
    6) Ward: Could easily leap frog Serg depending on boths next outing
    7) Gamboa: starting to become a better all around fighter . . . has the ability to go very high on the chart
    8) Bradley: Number 1 @ 140 Mentally more tough than Khan who could be on this list
    9) Cotto: I thought he was on the decline but look solid against his nemesis (the brick master), while I do not think he is the fighter he once was he has the skill set to cause anyone between 147-160 fits (including pac)
    10) Bhop: Not a fan and the last fight was a joke but this guy always gets the job done . . . you can never count him out. IMO his last loss was to Taylor and even that was very close.

It's pure and simple for me.

Who do I think would win in a fight, (or majority of fights for groups) if they were all naturally the same weight,

If two guys were the same size who would win....plus taking risky fight and always winning them.

Skill wise PBF is number 1 but the reason why he's not number 1 is because he's known to duck...in other words he's not taking the risky fight.

Pac is at number 1 because he's taken many risky fight where he's at a disadvantage.

my p4p list is more about accomplishments at different weight classes. You have to be dominant in multiple weight classes to be p4p in my list or be REALLY extremely dominate in one weight class such as heavy weight or example would be Ward at 168.

    1. Pac-he has one titles in multiple weight classes and actually fights people
    2. Floyd-don't really like how he has ducked fighters and gone on vacations but defensively he is the best in the business. Made Ortiz look like a *****
    3. Nonito Donaire-has destroyed titlists in 3 weight classes(KOs not decisions)-people use the excuse he was bigger, but that's just not true except for his last fight, he is taller yes but now is moving up in weight-he will lead the pack with Ward when pac and money are done.
    4. Juan Manuel Marquez-gave Pac fits in 3 fights, 37 years old and still whooping up on hungry lightweights-one of the best counterpunchers in the biz.
5.Sergio Martinez-has looked good lately-seems to play it safe at times but always gets the KO-it's not his fault that he has faced subpar opposition at 154 and 160-question I've had... Was Williams shot by the second fight or did Martinez ruin him. If he is knocking out dudes at 160...he can challenge himself by moving up to 168 or taking catchweights at 163 or 164. Arthur Abraham would be a good test to start.
6.Timothy Bradley-been putting in decent wins...exposed Alexander....mentally tough even those his punches don't have the pop...would have liked for him to take the Khan match but regardless he has been dominant.
    7. wladimir Klitchko-has anyone been more dominant at heavyweight in a long time
    8. andre ward-destined to be great....has one pretty dominant victories against most of the top supermiddle weights in the division. One thing I have a problem with...he needs to take more chances and go for the KO...he is way to safe...irregardless and excellent fighter....would like to see him fight Bute and then move up to 175 and fight Dawson.
9.Pongsaklek Wongjonkam-has anyone been more dominant than this guy at flyweight for so long. Would like to see him fight out of Asia but I don't think anyone could beat him even if he did.
10.Miguel Cotto-this man is on a comeback at 154, would love to see a fight with Martinez at 154 or an eventual showdown with Alvarez-who I see as an up and comer as well.

the worse NBA team could dominate any high school league . . . does that make them great?

with so many weight classes and so many belts, multiple divisions does not mean what it once did. It also does not gauge how good the fighter is right now. I view p4p as spot check, best fighter today not over time . . . it very much is what have you done for me lately

that just makes it a popularity contest....you have to look at overall resume...anyone can have an off night.

No, I do use the fighters records when I do consider P4P but it only is a showcase for their skill set. My list is not a popularity contest (yes Pac and PBF are my to favourite fighters, but I don't like bhop, I like Bute and do not care for Ward or Bradley).

A person could be undefeated, beat every single top fighter with in four divisions but be past his prime and not be as good as he once was

Wether the fighter is in a loaded division or a **** division he still is who he is, that doesn't change how good he is as a fighter.

    1. Pac
    2. Floyd
    3. Nonito
    4. Marquez
    6. Ward
    7. Martinez
    8. Wlad
    9. Vitali

And who's been more dominant over 10 weight divisions in pro boxing than the current P4P#1?

That itself goes beyond the definition of what it means to be a P4P great.

There is no science to it for me, no equations or a set list of rules. I just look at fighters and in my p4p rankings I rank them on who I feel has the best combination of skills and ability. That's it, I don't think about size at all.

Ok I'll go in-depth with my list ESPN style

    P4P King Floyd Mayweather
Hit He looked very good in his most recent fight vs Ortiz and showned he's still the best fighter in the world. Also with Pac "losing" to Juan, it adds legitmiacy to that win
Miss He WAS in active for a while, but he fought last in September and has a fight scheduled for May 5th so that's not an issue. The only thing is he had a little rust against Ortiz depsite his good performance and the ending of the fight may leave a bad taste in your mouth.

    2 Manny Pacquiao
Hit He fought a close fight with Juan and technically won the fight. Plus he has been on the top of his game for a while and I guess styles make fights
Miss We all know he lost this fight and whether you think he won or not, he should be demoted for the fight. Juan was desrcibed as a blown up lightweight at 144 by Pac's own fans 2 years prior and then Pac goes on to lose against him. He's lucky he isn't lower

    3 Juan Manuel Marquez
Hit He looked sensational vs Pacquiao. He was a big underdog that would supposed to get knocked out, but instead he proved everybody wrong and beat the former p4p king. Juan is one of the best the era. Even in his "loss" he deserves to be promoted.
Miss He did technically lose the fight according to the judges and less than 20% of fans, so I can't put him higher.

    4 Sergio Martinez
Hit This year wasn't as impressive as 2010 from him, but he's still backed up his crown. His wins over MW King Pavlik and former p4p ranked Williams gave him this spot and his recent wins keep him here
Miss He didn't look great vs Barker who was a big underdog. Also his choice of opponents have been questionable. He may not keep this spot for long

    5 Nonito Donaire
Hit Great fighter who has some of the best speed, power, ring IQ, ect in the game. He earned this spot after his KO of p4p ranked Montiel. Narverez was also a very good fighter that Donaire dominated.
Miss He still needs a few more solid wins for me to move him up, but luckily for him he has a lot of quality fighters around the weight class that allows him to do that. Also he didn't look very impressive in his last fight not showing much versatility.

    6 Andre Ward
Hit He's one of the most complete fighters today and beat arguebly the 2 best fighters at 168 and is now the champ at the weight. To go along with his very high ring IQ, he has great physical strength that he is able to utalize in clinches. He was also the 2nd person to beat Froch and did it in very convincingly and was the only person to beat Kessler except for Calzaghe.
Miss He still hasn't proved himself as the fighters ranked above him on this list depsite winning the tournament. He has the potential to be in the top 3, but I want to wait and see him prove himself first with wins over Bute/Dirrell and maybe against Hopkins/Dawson

    7 Wladimir Klishtko
Hit He's been dominating the divison (along with his bro) for a long time and seems to be untouchable. He's blown out all the fighters put in front of him during his run and it seems that only his brother can compete with him.
Miss He's been dominating the division, but his division is pretty damn weak. Klit fans will tell you that Haye is a blownout Cruiserweight w/o skill. Well it just happens, that was Wlad's best win in years.

 I'm tired of writing this **** out so here's the rest of the list
    8 Pongsaklek Wonjongkam
    9 Timothy Bradley
    10 Yukoris Gamboa

    but you said:

for me I just think who is the better boxer/fighter relative to his current natural fighting weight.

so to me that means you are comparing the fighters to others in his weight not with other fighters not in his weight class. if one fighter is dominate in his class and the division is **** should he be rated higher than a fighter in a better division who is not as dominate?:huh
