if fighter A is dominant in a **** division, and fighter B is less dominant in a really good division.

Then if fighter B is a better fighter than fighter A, fighter B will rank above.
But if fighter A is better than fighter B, fighter A will rank above.

Just cause the division is strong or weaker doesn't mean the fighter is better or worse.

When you say " you are comparing the fighters to others in his weight not with other fighters not in his weight class", you're wrong. I'm comparing all the fighters. Their ability relative to their weight.

Close to my top five, I just flipped serg and nanito even thought both fighters had tough outings. Serg has all the natural talent in the world but really had trouble making the adjustment against Barker. donaire fought a champ moving up who only wanted to survive and shut him out. I now consider donaires skills to out weight sergs talent

    1) Floyd Mayweather- For right now. Even though he bitched out against Ortiz, he would have probably won the fight anyway, Defeated JMM far easier than Pac.
    2) Manny Pacman- Takes on all comers, and wins. JMM fight was close and between those guys it will always be close, but he won.
    3) Sergio Martinez- Middleweight champ has some good wins as of late.
    4) Andre Ward- Winning the super 6 is a big deal. No other weight class has anything close to it.
    5) Nonito Donaire- Needs another big win pretty soon
    6) JMM- Always loses the big one. But classy fighter
    7) Chad Dawson- Think about it, has had one hiccup, but tore up Adamek who is a good fighter, and made Hopkins fake injury so he didn't have to fight.
    8) P. Wonjongkam- If it wasn't for Naito who has his number, he has not lost in 15 years.
    9) Tim Bradley- Though this play it safe thing is getting old
    10) Miguel Cotto- Lost to Pacman and avenged his loss to probably cheating Margarito. He's earned it.

I respect you opinion but lolx10 at Rigo in top 10 I would not put this inactive unproven fighter in top 50

he's inactive and unproven, but i think he's a really good fighter. I could be wrong but I think he's one of the best. Still has to adapt to the pro game a little bit more

The fact that he's unproven doesn't mean he isn't good, it just means we don't know for sure.

that's why I prefer basing the p4p list and atg rankings on resume. Is a little bit less subjective

well for sure it's best to base yourself on resume but when a guy hasn't had the opportunity to really showcase his ability against top level competition then it's harder, you kind of have to judge his ability on what you have.

Would Vitali and Wlad be so dominant if you took their size advantage away? probably not but then again they always seem to win. Hard to figure out.

if you consider that Wlad and Vitali weigh like 240-250 they don't really have that big a size advantage most of the time.

The reason Wlad and Vitali are not on my list is that you cannot even make a strong argument on who is best in the division. If you treat them as seperate entities (which a lot on this forum do not) there is no clear cut best heavyweight.

Very weird critera. There is no clear cut best welterweight either yet Pac and Floyd are both in the p4p list.

I agree with you though that oddly enough a lot of people on esb judge the Klitschkos as 1 fighter even though they are totally different.

    interesting question.

for me, my process is to visulize how good in total somebody is. also does I like his boxing style. when it is to damn obvious that not, I eliminate him out of my list (Klits for example).

even so, some boring boxing styles are so damn effective and have in certain points a beauty to be watched I value them hight. still I more like those boxers with solid rather than excellent boxing technic, but who love to bang instead of run, duck, crab or hold. so for me arthur abraham > juan manuel marquez in point of entertainment and who I like watching more, in terms of technic its obvious marquez > abraham.

what I dont like in defence styles, although they are extremly effective and I can understand why somebody boxes like that (straight up counter puncher atitude) is that in a way, I dont like to watch somebody who always waits for the other guy to throw a punch, to than react. because you always are in a sort of advantage, because always when you throw a punch you for that split second open and available for receiving something back. ***** style I call it, other call it inteligent boxing.

my eyes like more watching somebody coming and throwing and showing a fight, than a pick hide crab festival.

Floyd and Pac have been the man at several different weights. They just now is the last few years ended up at the same weight at the same time. That gives them the credibility to be at the top. But you are right, if they just started at welter and never dominated any other weight, I don't think I would have them in my list.
