I would say it's possible. I would like to see that fight.

    Disagree.

While Dirrell MIGHT arguably have the athleticism and physical abilities to beat Ward, he lacks the mental aspect.

He would completely fall apart against Ward, and he's probably be beaten before he ever stepped foot in the ring.

    Ward-Dirrell = Mayweather-Judah.

Dirrell's speed gives Ward trouble for a few rounds, but after that Ward's superior CRAFT and toughness take over.

Chad Dawson is a bigger threat to Ward than that ***** Dirrell.

I lways thought dirrell has a chance.

Dirrell has the ability to win if he can keep it on the outside, so you have to give him a chance.

But as I can imagine Ward will be more effective at keeping it at the distance he wants, I think he will win.

The problem with ward is, he didnt have the ability to beat ward at any distance.

Andre is taller and has better movement and is more elusive.
He uses his jab very well and can get out of difficult situations.
Problem is he has no inside game something Ward is good at.Ward will probably try to push Dirrell to the ropes, normally Dirrell gets out of such situations with easy so this will be a great fight.
Dirrell has already said his fight with Ward will be different and he can't wait. The fight will probably be not long from now because Ward does not want to fight Bute.

Dirrell is better and considerably faster than Froch and Kessler but I wouldn't favor him to win. Ward is the closest fighter to a prime Hopkins there's ever been and defeating a boxer with such a ridiculous skill level requires A LOT.

Agree with much of the above, Dirrell whilst having skills is no where near the complete fighter that Ward has proved to be (especially in his win over Froch). Ward would bully him and demoralize him. I can not envisage Dirrell beating Ward, however I can see Ward beating him in several ways.

Ward would be too good for Dirrell IMHO.

    Andre Dirrell?
This fight has less chances to happen that one vs. the K2 brothers.
And yes, Dirrell could have beaten Ward in the past. However, it ain't gonna happen in the future.

i can see what your thinking

Dirrell could be ward problems early on keeping it long and rangy

ward would prob adjust and turn it round tho

i like dirrell's style but ward seems to be the full package

Echoing much of what has been said here, theoretically you can see why he would have a chance. Dirrell is faster than Ward and has sharp, crips boxing skills. His check left-hook would be important when Ward tries to close the range down.

But the mental aspect cannot be overlooked. Safe pick is Ward.

Ward is fast compared to the kessler abraham froch's of this world but I don't look at ward and think wow he's lighting fast he's just a great all round boxer if anyone can beat him it will be someone with very fast hands.

Dirrells lack of an inside game would cost him that fight, it would competitive on the outside but Ward would adjust
