Froch vs. Kessler 2 at the City Ground

What a great event this would be?!

The first fight was a barnstormer, more than quite arguably the best in the Super Six series. It was a real entertaining fight.

Kessler currently holds a World Title (edit - or will by the summer no mistake) , I suspect that Ward by the time such an event came round will vacate one of the two he now holds with him stating he's going to take a while off.

Froch has always stated a desire to fight at the City Ground and this one would certainly entertain the fans.

I think Froch did more than well enough in the first encounter to be credited and seen as worthy of a rematch.

For me, this or a fight with Bute, who may see Froch as an easier target now, so welcome him on, are where I'd like to see Froch go over the next few fights. At 34 he needs to make while the sun shines as he's not going to be at the top forever.

Having said all that, no one could discredit him for taking a relatively easy fight now after the tough line of opponents he's fought over the last few years. He does probably need a comeback fight, confidence boosting fight, before jumping straight back into fire, then possibly Kessler or Bute?

Thought he had the WBO for some odd reason, my mistake. Anyway, he will do by the summer you can bet on that, and no doubt there will be one or two of the 4 floating around up for grabs if not.

Anyway, sure as a sales pitch perhaps it has some weight, but in truth the belts mean little today.

This would be a great fight.

My only doubt would be whether Froch could attract enough fans to make the City ground a viable venue. Either way, Froch vs Kessler 2 would be superb in my eyes. I loved the first fight.

Froch without question would fill out the City ground, Kessler is well known to even casual fans and he was getting around 8000 fans at 2 o clock in the morning for his fight against Dirrell at the Trent.

Froch has very few fans, certainly not enough to sell football ground out.

He sold out the Trent FM to a capacity of 7000 odd when he was less known than he is now against unknown opposition at the time in Jean Pascal.

According to the news just now, negotiations for Froch's next fight have already started.

Froch/Kessler 2 will happen in the spring i think. Does Kessler not have first crack at Ward though? He is still WBC Champion emiretus is he not? Froch/Kessler and Ward/Bute makes most sense though i reckon.

I personally feel Bute should earn a fight by fighting either Froch (the finalist) or Kessler (would of been finalist had injury not happened). Bute should not be able to get away with his thin record when the others have slogged away.

Saying this I agree with your sentiment. Bute has a better chance than the others imo.

I don't think Froch would be interested in the WBO title but he would be interested in revenge.

Kessler, who will be World Champ, aint gonna travel away to fight somebody he has already beaten and probably get shafted.

He will hold all the aces.

If he is gonna go away, it will be Ward or Bute in a unification.
