i think bute will lose lopsided to him.
bute looks good against fighters but against a technical guy like ward he will just be out done.
i reckon dawson up at 175 might be his stiffest test or indeed, the guy similar to himself, hopkins.

Bernard Hopkins is the only one on that list who would even have a clue about what to do against Ward's inside game.

I'd actually favor Ward to win at this point, but I would never count Hopkins out.

Dawson is a name Andre expressed interest in since before the Super Six started when Chad was still undefeated, so something tells me that Andre has always seen something in Chad's game he believed he could exploit.

I personally think Ward handles Bute without much issue at all.

The 175 pounders inherently pose a bigger challenge at this point, and I really do believe that Bernard's experience and craftiness can disrupt Ward's rhythm here and there.

After Hopkins, I honestly think a guy like Pascal might pose the 2nd biggest risk insofar that I can see him being Mayorga to Ward's Forrest, so to say. But I give him a slim chance. In fact, I think Ward looks at the B-Hop blueprint and improves on it.

I honestly wouldn't favor ANYONE south of cruiserweight to beat Ward at this point.

I honestly cannot believe that over 50% of the people here view BUTE as the biggest challenge for Ward.

I'm not seeing it at all, especially when the list includes elite guys at 175 and Bute's never even beaten an elite super middleweight.

I cannot believe that it's so hard for someone to undersand that people here talk in terms of skills. Skilwise, Bute is the biggest challenge for Ward. He was, even before Ward fought Froch and nothing changed that.
The worst argument here is the "who has A beat to believe that he can beat B?". It's like they're dueling with a CV. Boxers throw their resummes on the middle of the ring, open the doors for a pale of air and the resumme that lasts longer in the ring is the best.
Who has Golovkin beat? ...Yet he is very high regarded, and rightly so.

I agree with you, I just voted for Bute because of 'Now'. I think he should clean up 168 first than, move on to 175. Ultimately, I think Pascal's herky jerky style and enormous strength, great speed, would be an interesting match up. While it makes sense Bernard would give him more problems, for entertainment value would rather watch the Pascal fight. If he carries the strength, I even think he beats Hopkins, Pascal, and Dawson... he seemed to me stronger than Froch during Saturday night.

Not a Ward fan, but that was very impressive how he outclassed Froch.

Was gonna do this article, but you beat me to it.

As discussed the other day, I pick Jean Pascal.

As you mentioned, Mayorga to Forrest, RJJ to Hopkins.

    Requirements to beat Ward:

    - Quick reflexes
    - Quick hands
    - Physically stronger
    - Genuine pop
    - Awkward unconventional, more importantly unpredictable style

Pascal has all this, he just needs to improve his stamina to compete over 12 rounds.

The most important aspect being the adopted style. Pascal's style is the least predictable of the fighters mentioned and also the style which gives Ward the least time to think and adapt in order to hit his target.

At the same time Hopkins is the more experienced same fighter, so that gives him a good edge.

If he beats Dirrell, he should move up to 175, Bute is nothing

I actually agree with the votes for Dawson. Ward would have to move up and deal with a southpaw who has the length, jab and respectable handspeed to make Ward uncomfortable.
