Brian Magee was able to deny Bute his comfort range.

    Boom.

And went down as a result of a close range punch thrown by Bute. Proves my point that Bute can KO you via inside.

What gave Ward an easy fight was the speed diference between him and Froch. Bute is not slow as Froch. His hands are as fast as Ward's. His movements are also very good. Bute has speed, reflexes, accuracy, can adapt in a ring and has serious power. If you don't see how he could trouble Ward, you are too much in love with Ward.

Bute's trainer always prepares him 2 or 3 fights in advance. Bute has been training for Ward for a year now. Don't worry, he'll be ready. Is Ward ready for a skilled and fast southpaw. That is also something he never saw.

We won't know who will win the distance battle until both guys face eachother. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional.

I would rather be in Bute's comfort range, his short punchers are deadly on the inside.

Make no mistake, Bute is not a cupcake on the inside, he has sneaky one punch power in that range and isn't afraid to work the body either.

Has Ward ever fought anyone even similar to Bute? He's never faced a decent southpaw, he's never faced a good body puncher, and he's never really fought someone you could describe as slick. I favor Ward, but it's perfectly reasonable to think Bute might cause him some problems.

    What doesn Bute bring?

Power? I reckon Kessler, Abraham, and Froch are harder punchers than Bute. Andrade is the only guy Bute KOed that suprised me. The rest all have been stopped before. Could be wrong though.

Speed? Maybe. Ward hasn't seen anyone faster than him. But Kessler isn't exactly slow neither.

Chin? Froch. Kessler who has never been off his feet unlike Bute. Case closed

Skill? I think Ward is more skilled. Sure he was dropped by a jouneyman but unlike Bute with Andrade, you cannot make a case that he lost the fight. Bute clearly lost to Andrade that first time and Andrade was cheated.

    Resume? Never

Ward will keep his distance, time every jab and right hand, keep bute at bay and neutralise his offence.

I see Ward outboxing Bute 10 times outta 10.

At 175 he'll meet his real challenge

And Andrade basically KOed Bute when Bute has faced harder punchers since then. What does that mean?

Ward beats Bute but its a good competitive fight. Bute gives Ward a tougher fight than Froch did but I'd probably pick Froch to beat Bute. Ward-Bute really should happen next but I'm not so sure it does, there are a lot of options out there for both guys if they don't fight next.

Power? Kessler and Froch don't have that rare and special gift of one punch power. Abraham does but he is a slow ass turtle and doesn't have Bute's talent for sneaking punches in and working unpredictable angles. Bute has one puncher power to the chin and body from any range...do you realize how special and rare that is?

Speed? Bute's hand speed is Ward's equal. Bute is also very accurate.

Chin? Who cares? Ward isn't knocking anyone out. He'll have to outbox Bute.

Skill? Skills mean different things to different people. But I will say Ward and Bute are both very smart and technically sound fighters.

Bute will win and like every shared opponent between the two, will utlimately look to have an easier time than Ward. Froch is too slow and open for Bute.

    You read it here first.

Have any of you actually seen Ward? :huh :yep

He has some of the best phonebooth defense in the game...and by now, it has to be said a very good chin as well.

It isn't like Ward's going to get most of the way inside but stupidly hang back just enough for his chin to be exposed to an uppercut.

Bute isn't hurting him with anything except one of his cannonballs - and Ward is going to be right up on top of that howitzer, stopping up the muzzle. :deal

Well, a more limited brawler than Froch had Bute KOed basically. Actually I think Froch could do the same to Bute.
