Bute was a HBO boxer, Interboxe didn't had a lot of contacts in the business and there was the whole nationality problem

In his position it will take awhile to set up a good next fight. Evidently it won't be Bute. You think Kessler wants any? This tourney always had the potential to hamstring the winner in terms of opposition and Ward didn't even get to maximize his earning potential because of the structure. Besides, 99% of fighters say the same thing after a fight. They just came through a grueling process. Froch is no spring chicken and now has limited prospects. Obviously Bute wasn't keen on going after Ward when he could take the slow assed Froch instead.

 

Bute first choice was the S6 winner and it still is his first choice. He even said that his willing to go fight in Oakland to fight him

 

Promoters may have had talks before the fight. Ward clearly said he wouldn't face Bute before the final. Sorry but Ward s the one not wantng an immediate clash with Bute. Maybe to make it bigger later but don't put it on Bute. Froch is his second choice.

 

I dont understand this either, but since bute and froch both are come forward kind of guys, both bouts should be excitings wars and well I would have against them facing 2 times. maybe they both win and we get an final triology :nut

First, it is not signed. Second, talks hd begun before the fight. Finally, Ward said many times he would not fight Bute until he faces someone like Froch. Bute's promoter was a bit naive a couple of years ago. He got screwed a few times without having a plan B. This time, he was ready. Ward doesn't want to fight Bute? Fine, let's go directly to Froch. I don't see anything wrong with that.

 

I like the approach. I hope this goes through.

But I wait for the contract to be signed, before celebrating on this!
