in the gym we refer to it as "being handcuffed"..can't get $hit off cuz you feel like your not "mobile"...its really cuz you gettin hit and mentally, your just too scared to let your hands go thus, you feel "tight"

To be expected when you are tense as hell and swinging and missing wildly.

Mosley said it was from him pushing his head/neck with his elbow, but it could very well be mental as well.

Judah said this happened to him after round 4. Coincidence that he didn't win a round after that? It certainly looked as though Genaro was "wound up tight" against him, though like Mosley, this could be due to age. Corrales even looked a little tight in his movement and inability to throw any sharp combos. Gatti maybe? Maybe not Gatti because he was a punching bag, but for the same reason, that may explain why?

I agree with the above post that the feeling tight has to do with the inability to throw in fear of counters plus it might be magnified from fighting Mayweather due to his incredible ring movement and body placement. No matter how you look at it, it's not as though his oppositions are getting poisoned, so it's clear that Mayweather causes this in his opponents. Besides, its the only excuse which really can't be tested, observed, or proven.

Mosley also said it could be from getting hit with the jab.
