Thats good,do you still think Sky will pull out of boxing in the summer,I`m not being funny, just want to know
Yeah I cant imagine they will ever get those kind of numbers. Sky comes as a package. People dont just subscribe for the Boxing. Infact I'd hazard a guess most men have it mainly for Football, and will watch Boxing occasionally if and when they catch it on Skysports. However that's not to say they are would go out of their way to pay for the Boxing.
Why are people making such ridiculous comments and statements. I mean someone suggested Chisora vs Klitschko would bring BN 100,000 extra subs. WHAT THE **** ARE YOU SMOKING. And guy asking will SKY pull out of Boxing, what sort of question is that ? Christ sake Boxing is 2nd biggest sport on that channel, Boxing beats every other Sport when a big fight is on and in some cases beats many EPL games also. It is also one of only two Sport markets they Box Office. Why would SKY give up boxing, ffs people are simple in the head.
Yep showing Khan again has shown a commitment, also the way they hyped Froch up was good.Ringside has definatly improved and most main events are more competative, those viewing figures are encouraging. The contract renewals will be interesting but i don`t think they will drop any of the current promoters.
Oh Gary(nutjob) you are a ******.I asked Leforge if he still thinks Sky will pull out of boxing? I don`t` think there is a cat in hells chance, but Leforge has been banging on about it all year.
SKY will not pull out of boxing look at how many extra hours have been allocated to their viewing time let alone documentaries & also ringside. The problem with BOXNATION is when you have a dedicated subscription but domestically only the one home promoter how can you possibly put on regular quality shows? For £120 quid a year it's a poor deal PPV works as a one off for boxing in the u.k it's not the USA where you only need a small take up to make a profit. I have family in the USA PPV boxing events are around $40-50 dollars 1% take up and it's kerching! Badly thought out & the fact a recession is on won't help will be lucky to last 2 years.
Who the **** is going to care about Vitali v Del Boy? Thats nothing but a joke of a fight and no way will people in there thousands sign up just so they can watch that. The last time the masses saw Del Boy they saw a fat out of shape fighter lose to Fury. Boxnation is doomed. The hardcore may well subscribe but thats not enough. Maybe if De Gale or Groves get a big fight you might see some movement but c'mon is this fwank were talking about.
1 million subscribers is my estimate currently Another 4 million to subscribe before chisora vs vitali
Eddie Hearn tweeted this morning that the fight on saturday was the highest rated boxing show of 2011 on Sky Sports. If thats the case then Sky will be more than happy!!
I don't think Sky will pull out of boxing, in fact I'm certain they won't. But one thing I think they will insist on is better value for money. It's laughable that a novice pro was getting the same money as a ''world champion'' for fighting 6x3's, just because he went to the Olympics. Of course those lads are higher profile, or were anyway back in 2008-9 - but something was clearly out of kilter at that point. Given that the recession is still biting and Sky are in a battle to retain customers - if you phone and say you're cancelling you get six months half price :hey - they've got to cut back on spending, on pretty much anything barring football. The lads coming out of the 2012 games are going to get a rude awakening, probably with little on the table as an incentive to turn over. Sky won't back a deal by Hearn/Hatton/Maloney, and Allegedly won't be able to afford it because of his ongoing commitment to Frankie and DeGale.
