Meh, I have no problem with Calzaghe saying that. Ward is definitely beatable. But, so was Joe. If you fight enough good fighters, a guy is bound to get beat. If you are good enough, and don't fight very many good fighters, you probably won't.
How can someone think he would fight Ward now, when Joe in his prime did not fight great prime fighters...
lol at the new american hero ward and all his little girlys feeling the need to elevate him further, jesus old man glen johnson made froch look bad at times so don't get carried away.
What was "prime Calzaghe" and what made him so unstoppable? Was it when he won a debatable descision againt the average Robin Reid? Was it when he laboured to a dull points wins over domestic level Starie? Was it when he got dropped and badly hurt against feather fisted Salem? Fact is, Calzaghe spent most of his career fighting poor opposition, and he srtuggled or looked average in some of these fights. So any fighter is beatable, including "prime" Calzaghe. Bar longevity (ie fighting bum after bum) Ward has already done as much as Calzaghe did at SMW, and at their respective points in their careers, Ward has looked better doing it against much better opposition.
