Why do you think Pacquiao even stands a chance of beating Mayweather?

Floyd probably beats him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Pacquiao win by KO/TKO.

I think he'll shock the **** out of Floyd in the early going, but Floyd's probably the most adaptable fighter I've seen and gifted as hell so there's every chance he'll figure out a winning strategy. The thing is though, Marquez has always had Pac's number, the rubber match wasn't a surprise, and it's worth remembering Pacquiao's still an absolute beast regardless. We know Marquez is the kind of guy that can get up from 3 KDs in the first round and keep his cool over the distance even as more knockdowns come, but is Floyd?

Something I don't see brought up very often (at all?) is the way Floyd and his people were talking about Pacquiao when it first looked like they were on a collision course, they brought up all the PED talk because he was "knocking out all these big guys" etc - and it's worth stressing, they didn't just think he was good, they thought he was *too* good, and I think it's selling him short to judge him on Marquez III. Yes, he's only human, but we knew that already, we also know Floyd's never fought a fighter anywhere near Pac's level, this isn't some little ***** Floyd's just going to slap down, he's going to need to put in some serious work to keep that zero.

But all that being said, I still think Floyd takes it... I'm maybe 60% sure of that

This is why I asked for sensible and balanced Pacquiao fans, I'm genuinely interest in what tactics you believe Pacquiao should employ to get the job done.

He didn't hurt Clottey, but apart from that he hurt bigger men who had been destroyed more so than Pacquiao did to them, in recent fights just before he fought them.

I never thought Marquez would be that competitive against PAC the last time. I never thought Peterson has a chance against Khan. Never thought Ortiz would beat Berto but it turned out to be the other way round. PAC can win enough rounds by his sheer aggression and volume punching. If the PAC that fought Oscar and Cotto shows up against Floyd, do you think he has no chance? ****ing idiot! :good:good:good:deal

Yes there are many different types, but you said the word boxer, which when someone is described as a boxer, to me I think pure boxer like Floyd.

Styles make fights....Mayweather counters with one straight right and one left hook..Pac will try to come back with 8 blindingly fast punches....The only way Floyd can beat him, is to put his punches together like Marquez, and he has better accuracy, better speed, more power, so if he does, he will do GREAT damage...he will be the first legitamate ww to fight Pac like Marquez fought him, ...he will have to make Pac pay for all the thousands of punches he throws, or else he will get caught by that raw power and get busted up pretty bad...if Floyd fights the right fight, he KO's Pac in the 5th rnd...too big and too fast...but if he thinks he's going to fight him throwing one punch, two punch, its NO WAY his defense can work fast enough to avoid Pac's fast combinations...this is why people think Pac can win, cuz of the styles...Mayweather never fought the way he would have to fight in order to win, so in this fight Mayweather will be doing something we never seen him do before...fight, and put his punches together

 

We're talking about a defensive master and master boxer here.
