Why do you think Pacquiao even stands a chance of beating Mayweather?

Read some of Bogotazo's posts on this matter, he doesn't say that Manny will win but explains how Manny's frenetic punch rats and rhythm and Mayweather's defensive style match up. He posted a very informative thread on Marquez's style vs Mayweather's vs Manny as well. It may not follow out like he says, although his arguments are very compelling, but it makes sense from a technical standpoint.

You have not answered it. I clearly asked what tactics you think Pacquiao should employ and you have not come close to satisfy that.

No, I am not getting it wrong. Technically, anyone who steps in the ring to punch the other person in the face, is a fighter. You claimed Pacquiao is not a great boxer. When in fact, he is.

How about C-Rated fighter in Clottey coming off a loss or a fighter with NO Boxing License...oh yeah, sounds much better.

He has a dangerous combination of handspeed and power, he's a southpaw (and aside from the usual issues attached to dealing with a southpaw, there are also theories about the shoulder-roll suffering against this stance), he's capable of fighting every round at a high pace without fading down the stretch, he has a great chin and heart, and he throws combinations. If you really think Pac doesn't 'even stand a chance of beating Mayweather' despite possessing all of those qualities...I don't know what else to say.

This doesn't mean that I'm picking Pac to win. I favour Mayweather, and I've always favoured him in this potential match up. However, I think Pac definitely has a chance in this fight, particularly in the early rounds, where Mayweather is most vulnerable.

This is also a good point:

I think Manny have at most a 10% chance ofwinning the fight. That is just if Floyd loose concentration maybe or underestimate Manny's very fast hands. Mayweather is the better boxer and has probably equal hand speed. So if he fights his fight he should win. But then again this is boxing. And you have 2 fighters who are known to hit so fast that you cannot see the punches coming.....

If he didn't hurt Clottey then why wasn't he able to walk through his punches??
He didn't rock or concuss him, but he did hurt him with punches. Rather than be argumentative for the sake of it......take the point that was made which is that Pac can be hurtful with his punches.

Hatton & De La Hoya were hurt more by Floyd than Pacquiao????????????? is that what you are sayingin the second half of your retort?

Clottey was there for one reason and one reaosn only, the paycheck and only wanted to survive.

But not as hurtful as the fighters that beat the fighters you listed in their recent fights before Pacquiao fought them.

Why are you trying to put words into my mouth. :tired

He has a chance but Mayweather is the bigger man with superior skills both offensively and defensively. His natural talent that is often overlooked is his conditioning and stamina and he would be as dangerous to Pacquiao in the 10th as he would be in the 1st. As such when Pac was open and wild, he would get hurt.

    I reckon late stoppage.
