I have also heard Bunce has had to auction some of his flowery shirts to make ends meat.

If you havent been paid why would you agree to fight on Feb 25th? Also why is it the winner of Clev-Bellew didnt get paid, but the loser did?

On boxnation last night they were talking up Cleverly Hopkins in the millenium in the summer.

    This entire thread is bollocks.

  5. Who said Bellew has been paid?

Surely if this alleged act is true then it's dire news for those boxers and British boxing in general!?

I'm also amazed at the financial naivety of alleged people regarding a subscription channel focused purely on boxing!

Your entitled to think what ever you choose to. Just know Calzaghe was awarded £5million for his fight against Hopkins and his promoter held back the whole purse because Calzaghe promoted his own show against RJJ. Calzaghe went to court and won the case. His promoter still didn't pay the settlement of £5million and instead liquidated his firm and opened a new one on the same say :verysad

Calzaghe is still owed £5million and is looking to sue his promoter personally now. If his promoter does not pay he may be looking at bankruptcy and will lose everything he has. Before anybody feel's sorry for the promoter remember this is the guy that serves up Khan v ***an as a ppv and robs his fighters when they put their lives on the line in a boxing ring. Terrible excuse of a man, terrible businessman too.

I would also worry for Dave Parris too, he will no doubt struggle in due time with the recession taking hold ;)

  11. There should be a judgement on that case in the near future.

Apparently the amount still owing is £2m.

Allegedly sued Calzaghe first, but the case was thrown out because the judge believed ''it was brought as a smokescreen due to a lack of intention to pay'' - just google Allegedly vs Calzaghe and it's there for all to see.

    :yikes

The rope would of snapped with the weight of that ****. Would need a metal chain to hold that fat ******* up, then you gotta worry about the branch!

I pm'd Buncey about dodgy cards and asked him to make it a topic on his show. Did he do it? did he bollocks!

Sick of bent officials and biased journalists with conflicting interests.

Did he pay the other £3million then???

  15. I think £5m was the minimum guarantee (which he got), but he wanted another payment, but I can't remember what that was.

The courts awarded him £2m and Allegedly's company promptly went bust.

Therefore Calzaghe is going the private route, which he will probably win - whether Allegedly pleads inability to pay I've no idea.

What I will say is that Calzaghe should have received his money direct from America and paid Allegedly a fee as his manager. Of course if you've had a previously happy relationship with someone for a decade it's not something you think of doing.
