This thread is what the internet was made for. You can't silence the net! like you can with the TV & papers.

Gutted Calzaghe lost £3million in the courtroom :verysad

The money went straight to Allegedly as you say. As you say he should of asked Golden Boy for the money straight instead of via a 3rd party. Complacency and naive business acumen on Calzaghe's front.

Allegedly might just end up totally 'krupt pal. Seriously, I think this is the end of him as the top promoter. It wouldn't shock me if he went and worked for Arum in the future such are his close ties. For now though he must has broad ****ing shoulders because I wouldn't like owing blokes who fight for a living. I mean for **** sakes the likes of Murray and Burns will have mortgages and young family. To withhold the money would cause them severe money worries. My heart goes out to them it really does.

Here's a question for you. How will Billy Nelson act from now on? will he still be so pro-allegedly now?

Why would they be removed for this? I have read some things on the net so why can't you have a discussion on here about it? Plus most of the guys are pointing out it is ALLEGED

The problem is the gustapo mentality. If this was slander fair enough a ban is correct, but seriously all this stuff talked about so far is freely available on the net and is fact based. Nout slanderous has been said, come on just look at the favours Parris does so often, it's a ****ing joke.

ESB is a site for the fans and boxing debate. Deleting this thread will be a sign of allegedly's power.

Calzaghe got most of the money he was owed in a settlement. I was surprised when I was told.

  9. I'm not sure Calzaghe lost £3m in the courtroom, judging by what Hatton got for Mayweather (apparently £10m) I think £7m for Calzaghe vs Hopkins is fair.

Of course fair assuming Joe gets his other £2m.

It explains taking the soft option of fighting Roy Jones free of promotional ties, even though the 50-50 split was ridiculous.

Billy hasn't been on since his gloat (which he was entitled to) about Burns beating Katsidis.

Of course we all know that trainers called Billy have a habit of talking fighters called Ricky into leaving Allegedly in order to maximise their earning potential.

Burns could make big bucks fighting in the States IMO. Most of the big fights at 135lbs are there. Aside from Marquez who'd muller him, who would you make a favourite over him at the weight? Rios isn't seeing 135lbs ever again.

I dont get this. Calzaghe was owed £5million. You saying he is awarded £2million so where the other 3?

Billy will stay for now. Matchroom later imo. Yeah 135 is getting lighter, good time to stake his claim.

Calzaghe should of said 75/25 minimum yeah, stupidity giving 50/50 although he has earned £6million plus for a very easy nights work.

  12. I didn't know he was owed £5m, I just understood he got a guarantee of £5m and there was a dispute over the add-ons.

He could have got Jones for whatever he wanted, a million dollars perhaps. But I suppose Jones had just beaten Felix Trinidad so was on somewhat of a high..... well, a high compared to being knocked the **** out by Glen Johnson :-(

Jones must of be laughing all the way to the bank with that, Calzaghe is a thick **** looking back. He got slaughtered in his first divorce as well by his ex.

He has received not a penny from his fight against B-Hop so far. Dond gave me a post ages and ages ago with a article about Allegedly being in shed loads of debt with Lawyers for all his litigation issues. He owes them quite a lot from memory like £250k+. He lets them advertise for free on his shows as a consequence until he gets the cash together.

  15. I understood that he received his guarantee..... :-(

I'd love to hear an explanation for a £7m hole in his 2006 accounts :hey
