Has today's HW division ever been this good?

This obese, shot, 5ft 9", 40 year-old former Middleweight was unlucky not to get the decision against Sam Peter. The same Sam Peter who had Wlad visiting the canvas multiple times

Sam Peter is also considerd amongst both Klit brothers best wins:lol:

Respectfully: As most people have righly voted either poor or abysmal, and given numerous examples, you have to eat advanced, scientific, medically approved crow.

That's not what people are saying.

Everybody here would agree that in 2 of the modern heavyweights, diet, nutrition and science have played a major part in their development, and have made them be good enough to be threat to any heavyweight ever. (A threat I said, I'm not saying they are the best ever.)

The rest of the division though, is awful.

That is peoples point. they are fat, unskilled, and generally woeful.

It doesn't take scientific analysis to look at fighters of a recent vintage (last 40 years or so), and see many, many fighters that woudl put the current mob to shame. both in skills and fitness levels.

That's the truly awful part. Modern day heavies SHOULD be miles ahead of those in the past. But they aren't.

Nahhhhh. I'm used to going against the flow. I was against Bush, Viet Nam and both Iraq invasions. Usually the flow is going right down the drain.

Actually the poll is going better than I thought it would. A year or two ago, anything better than abysmal would have been almost impossible. A few people are catching on.

The 70's was the best HW era and the weakest was the Holmes era in the 80's, this era

and the one in the 80's are very similar. And just because the fighters are bigger and

stronger and science of boxing as improved dont fool yourself into think this is

the golden age of the HW because is not

ATG James Toney was destroyed by Peter once and also clearly lost the other time as well. What bad era?

    Peter SD over an ATG.

    Peter UD over an ATG.

Hey, I'm a Yank. Born right in the middle of the USA. Don't count us all out. It's true though, most of the posters here are yanks, and they are a bit blind as to European boxing.
