I certainly wouldn't be surprised if Jones did stretch Khan, but it just isn't the outcome I would favor prior to the fight. He is bigger than Khan, substantially so, but only has a one inch reach advantage, which isn't huge. Basically what I am trying to say is this: Khan has major flaws and I doubt he will ever be a dominant fighter in any weight class, but he will always be a world-class fighter and give many other world-class fighters hell. ****, he has even dominated world-class and elite level fighters. Jones on the other hand has never really totally dominated any fighter from what I have seen, and if he can't dominate gatekeepers what makes people so sure he would beat Khan?
No I always thought Mike would beat him what's ******ed about this thread atsch You're such a ****ing loser, why don't you go find a girl so you can go eat her ***** fart again
bball, disregarding your personal bias toward Jones as your hometown fighter, how do you honestly see this fight panning out?
:yep I'm not sure, there's more than one. Predicting Mike's fights is like predicting a Berto fight. He can win easily with the right mindset, but there's a really good chance he won't. I think Mike will try to box with Khan and even win the first round from his constant jab and his movement. Then I see Khan picking up the next few rounds from his speed and Mike will probably try to exchange with him and get hurt by Khan's faster and straighter punches. I could see the fight just following this pattern and eventually Mike will just shell up and Khan will dominant. Or I can see Mike ad******g and start to apply more pressure on Khan and work his body more and try to throw around his guard and eventually stopping him. This fight really depends on Mike on he responds
Jones failed to capitalize on a hurt lujan and looked quite average against him as well. Im from philly too so I watch his fights and support him but I felt last Dec 3rd was his chance to shine on the big stage and he simply just didnt deliver. Im afraid Khan's style and speed would trouble him into a clear UD.
This is a good match up with Jones coming off a win over Bailey and Khan with a rematch win over Peterson. Right now Khan is better than Jones, but I think Jones is devloping very nicely. I think that with the win over Bailey Jones will be ready for Khan and take a 116-112 decision, to defend his IBF welterweight championship.
Lujan had very good head movement and I think Mike's by afraid to gas out again so that could explain him not trying to finish him off a few times
:good Good stuff man. I agree though, I think it all boils down to which Jones shows up: the one that shows glimpses of greatness but ultimately underwhelms or the one that finally makes good on the infinite talent/ability/skill he has.
Naw, Khan needs to work on his inside game before he even thinks of moving up to welter. Until then Jones clear UD.
I believe you, it wouldn't shock me at all, he looks like he has a good sized frame on him. But still, Mike Jones has a MASSIVE frame at welter. Paul Williams was an enormous welter, and he was longer than Jones, but overall size Jones makes Williams look small. Jones shoulders are broader than some super middles. Simply put: the man is a beast as far as physical specimens go. Horse for horse, there are very few if none at all that are on Jones level, in the history of boxing (**edit welter weight division**). But then again, boxing isn't about who the most impressive specimen is, it's about who is the better fighter.
if can bulks up and gets bigger he wins vs jones. khans reach speed combo should do the deal and since maidana bout we know khan can actualy take it.
