Nick Wells was fighting in a Lou Duva promotion and not sure who Wells was fighting but Wells knocked the first guy out within seconds of the first rd, Lou then made Nick wait in the ring while they went and brought in another fighter a few minutes later only to find the 2nd fighter in the same shoes as the first guy with a first round ko. Not sure this was exactly legal according to Wells but there is an example.
I do remember Foreman fighting more than one guy in a night as well.

I recall reading a story in Boxing News a number of years back about Billy Bird and how he once fought at three different venues in one day. There was some kind of early show, possibly at a fair where he fought and then was tapped for some afternoon show somewhere else. After the 2nd fight he was found in a chip shop having a meal with his family where someone spotted him and pled with him that a fighter pulled out of an evening show in another town. Billy promptly grabbed his gear bag, headed to the train depot and fought on the evening show. I wish I had more facts on this or held onto that particular issue. I think it was Ron Olver who wrote it.

I'm afraid I cannot. I tried -- long and hard -- but the transgression was just too great. I will never forgive you.

With that being said, interesting thread. :good

Check out the "bigger's better" boxing series.. it's like a heavyweight version of prize fighter, with lesser experienced fighters. One of my favorite fighters from that series is Constantin Bejenaru. He's something special, even if he's a little small for the heavyweights. check him out.

I think Mike Perez recently fought twice in one night

    2010-05-15 227¼ Tomas Mrazek 223½ 4-27-5
University Arena, Limerick, Ireland W TKO 3 4
time: 1:48 | referee: Emile Tiedt
Perez had earlier in the same show halted Edgars Kalnars in 48 seconds. Mrazek cut above the right eye in the 2nd round and halted in the 3rd after the cut worsens.

    2010-05-15 227¼ Edgars Kalnars 214¼ 20-22-0
University Arena, Limerick, Ireland W TKO 1 4
time: 0:48 | referee: David Irving
Perez boxed twice on the same show. Kalnars given a count in the 1st round.

There was a heavyweight tournament -- 3-round bouts -- with some name heavyweights and a few "up-and-comers" in 1993 in Bay St. Louis, Miss.

Tony Tubbs won, winning four bouts in one evening.

Multiple guys fought more than once. Results:

Marshall Tillman W Jason Williams SD 3
James Smith W Lester Jackson UD 3
Shane Sutcliffe W Paul Phillips DQ 3
James Smith W Marshall Tillman UD 3
Daniel Dancuta W Derrick Roddy TKO 1
Tony Tubbs W Daniel Dancuta UD 3
Tony Tubbs W Jose Ribalta UD 3
Tony Tubbs W Tyrell Biggs UD 3
Tony Tubbs W Willie Jackson KO 1
Jose Ribalta W Derek Williams SD 3
Craig Petersen W Bert Cooper SD 3
Tyrell Biggs W Shane Sutcliffe TKO 2
Tyrell Biggs W Evgeny Sudakov SD 3
Daniel Dancuta W James Smith UD 3
