    So to recap:

    1) He was the best in his sport
    2) Loved the flashy lifestyle
    3) Gambled
    4) Was black

How is that different from Floyd? It's not. At all... except Jordan for most part conducted himself like a professional and with class, and practically every ****ing 10-year old kid, whether they were white, black or yellow, had a Michael Jordan poster in their houses, which their parents gladly bought.

And Jordan was arrogant, cocky, standoffish against some superiors, and a reported control freak. Sound familiar? :think

Everyone popular is hated in some ways. Some more than others. Favre was hated because he held Rogers back. Deckham was hated by people because people felt he was undeserving. Some hated Jordan, but people always respected his competitive drive and his skills. Some people hated Tiger Woods, but recognized him as the best.

But their hate is different from Floyd's. Why? Because they don't treat people like ****. They don't do things to inflame the public. They actually respect people in public, unlike Floyd.

Floyd is hated in the same way Kim Kardashian is being hated...they're both ****s.

Again.....they had their short comings as men... Lived in a different era where it was common for husband's to hit their women. Not that its right in any time period but the question is why is Floyd hated..... It's not just because he hit women... It's who he ties to be when he acts like the guy he calls "money". People loved Ali not because of beating up women but for the things he did that brought about meaningful change.

I hear you, but Ali as we know him now has a ton more love than he did in his time. The passage of it seems to ease the edge and I think the same will happen with Mayweather.

Sure people hate Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Rose, Kobe Bryant for being rich, black and successful.

There is a reason why many hate Lebron James. Same reason they ghate Gayweather. Being an ******* has nothing to do with one's skin color.

    - His attitude and dumb interviews rub people the wrong way
    - Increased frustration from boxing fans for Floyd's refusal to fight the top guys at WW
    - His epic ducking of Pac
    - His disrespect of Boxing Legends such as Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson
    - Lastly, it's hard to understand what his dad or uncle is saying during interviews :D

If you're comparing Mayweather to an NBA player - Allen Iverson.

    People hated that guy.

Magic, Ali, SRL, Jerry Rice, Marcus Allen, Andre Dawson, Erik Dickerson, Bo Jackson...all atop the sports world at one point. All rather liked.

You guys need to accept that it's Floyd's action that make him hated. Even if his record sucked, he'd be hated for what a dick he is.

This is what I don't get about you constantly going on and on about this "woman beating" stuff...How is it that you find it so repulsive that Floyd did whatever he did (which hasn't been determined or shown), yet you have no problem supporting a guy who claims to be religous (which you say only mentally weak people are, lack of intelligence, etc etc), ****s prostitues while his wife is with child, fathers a child with said prostitute, has been linked with attempted assasinations of political rivals, rumored to be a compulsive gambler, etc? I have no problem with the "moral highroad", what I don't understand is the inconsistancy of the application. Could you elaborate on this for me?

Floyd will be more appreciated after he retires for sure. But you have to admit......there's a **** load of upside potential in that area for Floyd. I just hope Floyd continues to do what he does best and doesn't become a boxing stero type. He is walking a fine line and this is a perfect "wake-up call".

I'm sorry, but Ali was downright hated for the path he chose when he converted to islam and start getting "political". It's only now he's looked back on fondly.

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs (R.I.P.), Rupert Murdock, Ted Turner- All powerful men who've been reported as having horrible social skills and controlling natures that are downright dystopian.

And as many athletes you have named, there's double that number who were as or more successful that were hated cause part of there personality wasn't "popular".
