Cotto won, cheato lost, let the **** go

margo is not a one punch and your out kind of guy, its a process w/ him.
the extra 3 rounds would not have made a difference.

stop w/ the woulda, about to and getting ready to crap

After what Stewart had said about Cotto's shoulder, I was hoping to see more of a two handed fighter with Cotto. I was hoping it would make a bigger difference than it did. But yeah, I thought Margo was closing the gap at the end. It would have been much harder to use loaded gloves in Nevada because of the rules there. People like to gloss over that and hate, but I had it a 50/50 fight going in only because of the belief that Cotto's shoulder surgery would make a bigger difference.

The funny part is, later in the fight, Cotto was bullying Margarito around the ring. It was the complete opposite of the first fight. :patsch

His power without the wraps was clearly weaker. He wasnt turning anything.

The only thing turning around in the 9th round was Margarito's head from the punches which were landing. His pitty pat shots had nowhere near the same effect on Cotto without the sledgehammer in his gloves.

i just finished watching the 9th and while cheato was getting to cotto, he wasn't landing consecutive powerful punches, nothing that showed signs of a comeback

    Agreed to point.

I contend that some of those lefts actually hurt Margo in that 9th round. You saw Margo's balance wasn't what it was, and he was getting pushed around at times.

I also contend that people are buying into the idea that he was turning the fight around because he was coming harder in the beginning of round 9. What they aren't taking into account is that Margo was told by the Dr., and you can even hear it, that he was giving him 1 more round. And that was before round 9. He knew it was his last chance to do anything. And all he did was get tattooed by Cotto's lefts.

without his plasters he isnt turning any fight around.

he is an ordinary fighter who rose to the ranks because he cheated.

Yep, he would have gotten the knockout if Cotto hadn't all but caved in the right side of his face. Err, actually, no, Rockgloves was beaten to submission.

Cotto ran a trackmeet the whole night and he has a history of losing steam down the stretch of fights. Margarito's stamina cant be questioned.

Its not a foregone conclusion that Cotto has the fight in the bag, as the thread starter said, Cotto body language did'nt exude he was raring to fight the next three rounds, while with Margarito, right after the 9th round ended he shouts walking back to his corner, "he's mine, he's mine."

I do think Margarito felt and sensed Cotto was slowing down, and he felt like physically he was fit to take it to Cotto and fight hard every minute of the final 3 rounds.

People, 3 rounds is a marathon for a fighter who's tank is on low.

Sorry, but its not a given Cotto makes it to the final bell vs Margarito.

Jesus effin! This **** again. Now it's official, the mma has ruined boxing, everybody expects a boxing match to be two guys in a ring seeing who can gat hit the most before falling or getting choked out. For pete's sake, it's boxing. Hit the other guy as much as you can without getting hit yourself. "Oh, Cotto was going down, did you see his face, he was getting hit" Well damn, no **** he was getting hit, after all, cheato has two fists just like Cotto. Look at it 100 times, it won't change, he got beat, he couldn't see out of that right eye, only one outcome, more left hooks. The only thing Cotto was tired of was hitting the zombie in the head. As previously stated, he was told one more round at the beginning of the ninth, he tried to bring some pressure, got some hits in, but in the end couldn't hit Cotto and just ended up eating guess what, more left hooks.

Margarito was gaining momentum in the last round before it was stopped by docotors. You can also clearly hear that Garcia was saying that was his best round. Cotto was just hoping that the doctors will stop the fight.
I also think that Pacquiao softened up Margarito, if it wasnt for the broken orbital bone, the fight may have turned out differently.
Margarito was banging Cotto with Body shots in the later rounds also.

who's to say Cotto didn't soften the facial of Margarito for Mosley and Pac cause what Cotto do to facial the first 7 rounds of their first fight was never done so in the passed just look at the end of the 1st fight and look at his eyes
