The fight package BN put together is shite compared to Sky - and it's shite in general. Amateurish. This is all now seeming a last chance effort, I knew I'd fall for it, and did.
This is the crux. people will have a go at buncey, but your right - the bloke has to earn a living. he would be much better off by not logging on. stay well clear of this mess buncey. let us internet warriors spout a load of conjecture and bull**** and face the Wrath of Worren.
He'd probably admit to being a hypocrite deep down. One minute he's slagging off fighter A for fighting bums, the next he's peddling David Haye vs Audley Harrison as ''Best of Enemies'' - when in truth they probably shared a beer both in the lead up and afterwards and congratulated themselves on a job well done.
I previewed the Super Six by getting Kessler on. You want more than that? That is 100 percent more than Ringside managed before Froch/Abraham. An editor of a boxing website has to follow the sport. That's a fact. Frank came on the show and talked about teething problems and fighters being understanding. How much more do you want? Since Sept 30th BoxNation has put out 35 live shows. Adios and enjoy the break.
I understand where your coming from but I have left a job in the past because a gaffer was taking the **** with paying wages and was a **** to work for. I spoke up and told things as they were and packed my bags and moved on. I can wake up in the morning knowing I have dignity and pride. Bunce cannot say this. A man who doesn't stick to his word is not worth his salt imho. Let's remember Bunce 'tells it like it is', does he bollocks! I called Bunce out on that and he spouted some **** like 'it was a big event'. No Steve the only thing it was 'a big kick in the bollocks to the health of British boxing'. UFC has Jones v Machida and we have Haye v Audley. No wonder the casuals are turning off. Bunce should be calling this out for what it is, a cash grab. Instead he toes the party line to whoever plays the money tune.
Why don't you cover the dodgy officiating topic then? why did Parris let Barrera continue with a cut and stop fight as soon as NC rounds had past? Why does Parris always have bias to certain promoters stables? Why, as an independent journalist on the bbc, call thing for what they are? You gave pelters to Cortez for his reffing in the Mayweather v Hatton fight yet Parris get's a pass :-(
Bunce if everything was hunkey dorey and the channel was great, boxers doing great, threads like this wouldn't exist. Boxing is alienating it's fans.
I agree. The so-called internet brigade that know **** all. The problem Allegedly and Co have is that they know too much, and aren't going to tolerate bull**** ''never been stopped'' opponents and pay through the nose any longer. The days of being able to peddle a pissy WBU ''world title'' at the MEN Arena, pay the opponent two coconuts and a bowl of rice to fall over in a round are long gone.
That’s not entirely true, I think. Boxing fans like to whinge about some really silly things. What’s changed (across all sports) is the ability for fans to have an active voice. What promoters haven’t quite grasped (like most companies) is how to use your fans’ advocacy to drive your product. Box Nation was a great idea but it’s been promoted all-wrong for the current age. I’ll save my post-mortem for when the channel fails. But let’s also consider that Bunce doesn’t work for FW. He works for a company that FW is an investor in. That’s not the same thing. But equally, it’s pretty unusual for anyone to slag off the owner of their company. The bank analogy gets more and more accurate. Banks need to hold a certain amount of capital to absorb losses and pay debts. If a company has been over-investing and running down its capital to inflate its return on equity, then it will shortly come a cropper. No one is that good at gambling long-term.
Since when did boxers not being paid become "teething problems"? Big ****ing problem is it not?! :verysad
Exactly, the sad thing is for the past 3 years these threads haven't survived because Mods have been too cautious because they fear being sued. You know things are bad when you can type Hearn, Hatton, Hennessey, Maloney but not ******. Why is it that he is the only promoter that does this? it's because knowledgeable folk are ****ed off that's why. Froch wins his WBC belt in a war against Pascal, defends against Taylor, Dirrel and Kessler then fights Abraham, Johnson and Ward. Burns wins a belt against Martinez and fights 3 gimme's and then moves up to fight a faded name. That is the problem, his over cautious matchmaking. Khan has come on leaps and bounds since he left him and I believe other fighters will prosper if they leave him. The sport will do so too because we wont have to put up with so many shockingly one-sided fights.
