Some boxers have NOT been paid

If Fwank had any sense he would invite every person from this thread to a bar in London to talk about how a boxing channel can work?

I get customor surveys from sky every 3 months. courtesy calls from my bank.

I never took an issue with it because Adam Smith doesn't go around claiming he talks about all fighters no matter who there promoted by and spend a 1/4 of his airtime slagging of Setanta/Box Nation etc. They just get on with there job.

Froch vs Abraham was a year ago. Get over it. Just becuase Sky ****ed up before doesn't mean you should do it now. They showed highlights of the fight and had him on ringside for an interview the next week. The reason Froch was in the dark was down to Skys relationship with his former promoter being **** as his job.

Since then Sky Sports News and Ringside have covered fights like mayweather vs ortiz, khan vs mcloskey, khan vs judah, pacquiao vs marquez, katsidis vs burns, cleverly vs bellew.



This thread is about certain fighters not being paid by a certain promoter. This is a MAJOR issue in British Boxing. The fact is has not been addressed by the mass media is a disgrace, its even more disraceful that its not been addressed by the Boxing press.

Do you feel that boxers should be paid on time?
Do you feel that pundits like yourself should be paid on time?

You said at your live boxing hours.....which certain fighters were banned from remember.....that you were owed thousands by Setanta. I hope the same doesn't happen to you this time I really do.

I have plenty of ideas for shows. We need HD. We need guarenteed contract with US promoters. We need press confrences and weigh ins.

I think a Fan's Forum show would be a good idea, but of course Allegedly would be under no obligation to answer any of our questions.

It would also be good if the same could be asked of Robert Smith and other members of the Board in respect of various issues.

Allegedly.....

1. Matchmaking
2. Payment of fighters
3. Pullouts
4. Ticketing

The Board....

1. Why are officials paid (and given tabs at hotels) by promoters
2. The tendency to sweep issues under the carpet
3. Sanctioning grossly incapable overseas fighters
4. Spurious eliminators for titles
5. Why don't they promote the sport and act in the best interests of their members

and a whole host of other issues.

Really the board remind me so much of the BDO, the game really needs someone to grasp the mettle and take the sport forward into the 21st century. As it is, it's being run by complete muppets with no authority to do anything.

 

Problem is there are a lot more Martin Adams and Crofts to deal with :good
