Which outcomes would of been different

    had they used a 10 point system in older fights and a round system in modern fights?

    The first one that comes to mind is Joe Frazier -Oscar bonavena 1
    With a 10 point system Bonavena wins the fight

    With modern scoring, Charles would have beat Johnson considering the knockdown.

    That fight was awfully close..I think Bonavena would have won it..though I don't have before me the actual scores of that fight..and what difference the 2 kds would have made. It was a close fight alright..Bonavena was the aggressor in the last round, pushing Frazier back and taking the lead.

    Yep. A lot was made of the California scoring system when Quarry fought Patterson both times, how those kds of Quarry seemed to have more pull than was warranted, esp. since Patterson did enough, I feel, to win both bouts. I think it was called the "5 point must system" or something.

    I wonder if Bonavena winning would have signifigantly changed boxing history !
