Ward has the style to beat Calzaghe. He can negate Cal's speed by staying out of punching range, similar to how Hopkins was able to negate much of Calzaghe's speed until his stamina gave out, then smother Calzaghe and turn it into an in-fight, which is something Joe never excelled at.

Joe is at his best operating at his ideal combination range. When you take that away, Joe really struggles. Ward specializes in taking away his opponent's ideal range and imposing his own.

    Ward UD Calzaghe.

Ward's resume will be better than Calzaghe's with one more good W, and he's only 27. Joe should enjoy his retirement and shut the **** up.

Even though I favor Calzaghe: Could've would've should've. Why don't he come out of retirement and prove it instead of being defeated by coke.

Just like Will Smith said he can beat Mike Tyson

Some people on here talk ****. Joe Calzaghe not good at infighting? What a load of ****.

Ward clearly isn't as fast either and not as powerful as Calzaghe at that age imo.

Calzaghe would beat Ward as he is too quick and has bags more stamina.

You think Calzaghe would have gassed against Froch in the last two rounds ? :rofl

maybe joe would have beat ward, or should i say maybe ward COULD HAVE beaten calzaghe.
either way, one things for sure, joe would have given andre ward a lot more difficult and tougher fight than carl froch ever will.
thats the difference between the two, calzaghe found a way to win every big fight he had, carl froch, as brave and tough as he is, just could'nt.

Calzaghe slaps the **** out of ward. Ward could have 5 free punches at the start of the fight and wouldn't rock calzaghe. Both lack power, fairly even speed but calzaghes stamina and work rate would be the deciding factor. Ward takes no more than 4 rounds. UD Calzaghe

Calzaghe had ridiculous stamina so I could see him outworking Ward to a UD.
