I have fallen into the stupid trap of cutting down calories, and cutting down calories so low, that i think my metabolism may be extremely slow. Basically i want to start building up my metabolism, so that it burns more calories daily, instead of eating so little that it forces my body to use fat as fuel due to the lack of energy. What would be the best way to build up my metabolic rate? Also i have a question about pepsi max, this is the version of coke/pepsi that have no added sugar, and with only 1 cal per can. My question is, are these bad for you? i know that the analogy on regular coke/pepsi is they are empty calories with no nutritional value, that are bad for you, however this one only has 1 cal per can? Thanks for your help and advice:good
I like to enjoy a can of Coke Zero once a day. I heard that aspartame does have some ill effects, but calorically speaking no one calorie per day will not hurt you.
Thanks for the response guys:thumbsup, i think i might take the risk of the one calorie and enjoy the coke.
seeing as you were eating very little i pressume your trying to drop weight if so fat is what you want to be burning this would be a good thing
When you eat very little, your body stores the fat, not knowing that you have food readily available; it doesn't burn it, and it in fact extracts energy from the protein in your muscles before touching that fat. What you're doing makes it much harder to lose weight. Soda is no good for you; just try spiking your low-fat calories with fruits, lean meats, carbs, beans, and whatever else while you're in a period of high activity, and your metabolism should help take care of your weight loss.
yes, but what would be the best way to improve my metabolic weight, with putting on as least weight as possible?
Lift some weights, if you're doing lots of cardio/boxing you're not going to be able to put on weight anyway. And eat food, you can eat more, lose weight and train at a higher quality/intensity.
yes i have diet coke sometimes if i'm cutting weight, i usually drop 5-8kg's to make weight. diet coke is a very good apetite supressant i find.
Okay, thanks mate, however at the moment im not doing that much training as it is christmas and the gym is closed for a short while, but i am still running, doing some skipping and occasionally throwing some shadowboxing in.
