    :good

A complete lack of respect for one of the most recognizable fighters in modern day boxing and one of Mexico's favourite sons. A man who went to war with Morales 3 times and has fought the best opposition possible whenever he could.

To treat him like this just unfathomable. Gutted for the legend. I don't suppose it helped the cause for wanting U.S based fighters to come over here either.

Yeh because treating Barrera bad is sacrilige, and robbing a hard-working and proud journyman isnt?

    Thats a worse crime IMO

ITV4 I believe, he wasn't ranked domestically to a high standard and for me was a total unknown. His 'Unique Selling Point' was that he was an ex bare knuckle fighter so therefore was seen as durable which also goes hand in hand with Frank's notorious line of 'his challenger is coming to win, he has never been stopped' :verysad

If you know your boxing or even just watch enough of it you can see the trends. Certain promoters rob fighters and nearly always pack out a card with one sided affairs. Cleverly v Bellew was the epitome of a shocking card other than Degales fight for Euro strap.
Certain promoters draft in Latvian opponents who come in looking for the canvas asap. Fighters drafted in should have a standard purse and bonuses dependent on performance i.e actually looking for the win and get more cash per round won etc. They merely look to fold in the first or second round.

I am on a tangent here but I feel like the reasons I have mentioned will no doubt of hurt Frank in terms of revenue made via ppv. Fans just don't want to shell out hard earned cash for something that they know is going to have controversial point cards, early stoppages and of course knock over job Latvians. They have got value for money for their PPV purchase i.e 50/50 and exciting fights. The likes of Frank hinder the target of bringing casuals and their money into the sport and has damaged british boxing's reputation.

Barrera didn't deserve the robbery just as journeymen don't. The opponent that is winning the fight should be given the win irrespective to what record he has, what promoter he is managed by and where he is from in terms of residence.

Ask Peter Buckley hows many fights he 'actually' won. IIRC he reckon at least an extra 40 off the top of his head where he was on the wrong side of the card as he put it.

Equally as criminal but Barrera stood out because it was so blatant and because of his profile. IMHO he is one of boxing greatest ever students. To watch him get robbed was a very bitter pill to taste.

Barerra was making Khan miss and was obviously going to come on strong in the second half of the fight, bedazzle him with slickness and knock him out.

Can you be a slick fighter if you aren't black?

Some of the Slick And Blackest fighters currently are not even black, bro. Being Slick And Black isn't a race thing, it's a state of mind.

Ridiculous thing about Bobby Gunn is that Adamek fought him for the IBF two years later.
