Geoff McCreesh, not exactly a hero of mine, but he did have an utterly heroic moment in his career that I cant forget, so thought I would give him a mention, just for the hell of it:good

For reasons I've never understood, Fwank was involved with Simon quite early on. Bizarre life he's had.

I'm surprised Sweet C hasn't been mentioned yet. Joy to watch even if a little fragile.

If one of the North-East lads were here they'd be going on about Billy Hardy.

    Jon Jo Irwin
    Charles Shepard

I remember Irwin fighting someone at gone midnight here on undercard, might of been Pickering. To beat Pickering back then you had to have something about you. Shepard beat Tom 'Boom Boom' Johnson a past it Johnson but still a good win for someone like Charlie.

Mand. Sweet C is probabily my favourite domestic fighter. Fundamentally very sound. Just a pity he had cronic shoulder problems which really hampered his career big time. He injured it well before the Palacios fight, which is when the big damage was done, but it was already gone before then. At one point he was our version of Ray Leonard. I love the Stecca fight when he won his strap.

The Ingle fight is hard to watch, because Colin was pretty much done by then.

He was a gent as well, really top fella. Also a smart cookie outside the ring.

Yeah i've heard good things about Colin inside and outside the ring, I have no clue why i haven't watched more. I'll have a look at the Stecca fight if it's knocking about on youtube.

You take him to beat on his day:
    Brodie
    Harrison
    Mccullough

    ?

Apologies if a naive question but never saw him in prime.

always remember Boxing Monthly touting Sweet C as the next big thing back in the day Slip, I had the edition where it was a blurred Colin on the front cover, obviously a reference to the mans blurring handspeed.

Shame about the dislocated shoulder that never healed properly, rotten luck for the guy.
