This thread wasn't made to point out how strong I am etc big guy. I was simply asking for some advice on what heavy bag to purchase.

So dont get your vagina in a twist, I asked a simple question, nothing to do with my ability as a boxer, which isn't much at all. I wanted some advice on a heavy bag.

Thanks for the tip. I'll rephrase my question:

DOES ANYONE KNOW A HEAVY BAG THAT IS SO HEAVY I CAN NO LONGER THROW INCORRECT PUNCHES AT IT OR KEEP PUSHING IT AROUND?

    Thanks.

A real puncher makes the bag pop. They don't push it and make the entire thing shake from its foundation.

Hendo - I honestly don't care whether I'm a real puncher or not mate. I'm not trying to sell myself as one. I'm just looking for a decent heavy bag mate, **** me.

Will you do me a favour and tell this guy he's not hitting the heavy bag correctly for me?

good boxers move the bag, sure they pop the bag around but they will also include a slight push with the pop so the bag moves.

a moving bag is a much better tool then a staionary bag as far as timing, distance, foot work and endurance is concerned.

a moving bag also helps with balance and strength because you can punch against the motion of the bag, in the video posted manny does this quite a bit. just as you can slip and come in with a counter as the bag is swining twords your self to work counters timing and distance, as it gives you the true feeling of the 2 weights impacting.

if you just want to work combos then something staionary would be better.

id say your best bet would be to get any bag you want and as allready mentioned set up an anchor maybe a bungeee chord tied to a 100lb sand bag. then if you want to bag to be stationary anchor it down, and if you want the bag to move remove the anchor.

Thanks man, it's nice to get a decent response from someone, cheers :good

I understand and agree with what you're saying about a moving bag, but I'm not going back into boxing properly, just want to get fit, stay sharp and get the buzz back for it.

    Thanks again.

Finally got around to buying a heavy bag and started training this week. Haven't trained for a good few years so finding it real tough.

Bought a bag from Ringside, cost £150. It's a REALLY nice bag, nice to hit, and a nice bit of weight to it.

Short clip of me using it earlier today.. only did a few mins cos I'm blowing out my ass at the moment just doing 2 mins, LOL.

Its quality man, was a bit worried when I ordered it thinking it was too small. When it arrived and 2 guys were bringing it to my door on a wooden palette, I was a happy man. :good

Highly recommeded if anyone is looking to buy a decent bag.
