Could Bute make it through his whole career without fighting one of the top guys?

And by the top guys I mean (currently) Ward, Froch, Dirrel, Kessler, Dawson, Hopkins. Seems like he's perfectly content making nice money fighting out of his back yard without having to worry about losing.

Can anyone see a scenario where team Bute keeps offering peanuts to fighters like Kessler and Ward to come and fight Bute then when they reject the offer(s) they (Bute and co.) can say that nobody wants to fight him, and so the cycle plays out for another 2-3 years then eventually Bute retires then his team and fanboys can go on about how he was one of the most avoided boxers ever etc.

It's an utter sham that blown up small MW Arthur Abraham has taken more risks and has a better single win at 168lbs then Bute :patsch

Well, he's managed to avoid fighting them so far. Once he goes bald his career is as good as over anyway, so he's probably only got two more fights in him. I think he'll complete the trilogy with Andrade and bow out against Alan Green.

Of course he could. He's 32 in February. He's got maybe 3 years left. 30 fights and Glen Johnson is his biggest win.

    Edit: + everything Shaunster said.

Bute fans cling on to the hope that there is hope, much like regular boxing fans still hope they'll one day get to see a Mayweather Pacquiao while Bute fans hope that they get to see Bute vs Anybody of note.

I hope so. It's been a massive waste of talent so far. The only fighter in the division I can see troubling Ward.

I think he will. I think he fancies his chances against Froch. Don't think he'll fight Ward though because he knows Ward would toy with him. He's definitely not interested in fighting the very best, that's for sure.

Brian Nielsen sort of did it. He just got greedy and decided to cash out against Tyson.
