He illegally headbutted and low blowed Soto in the 3rd round. Its irrefutable that Soto was going to KO him if not for that.

Ashamed by the fact that he cowardly cheated Soto to prevent his ass whooping, he kamikazed his career to gain back respect from the people's champ Humberto Soto

I stopped paying attention to him after he ran like a ***** from Soto the entire fight. Never wanted to see him again.

    Spot on there!
Great boxers, could and possibly should have been an all time great. He's more dedicated now but it's a little to late. Only thing he's missing is KO power!

After not making weight a couple times, you lose fans. When you waste away your talent, you lose fans, when you refuse to work hard you lose fans. Guzman wasn't ripped at 135, yet wouldn't even come close to making weight. At 147, he looks like a blown up featherweight.

Also at times when he fights, he shows too much machismo. That will be the end of him at welterweight, the guys are too big and hit to hard for that type of crap.

Example: When fighting Funeka the first time at 135, he made Funeka hit air for almost three rounds straight, then decided to get macho, and show that he could take Funeka's punches. The result was Funeka almost caving his face in with a huge right hand while Guzman was against the ropes. The rest of the fight ended up being somewhat of a one sided beat down in Funeka's favor. I didn't give Guzman no more than the first three rounds where he showed his great defensive skills. Once Funeka landed that bomb, Guzman seemed to fight the rest of the way in a daze. He was a bruised and battered mess after 12 rounds, in which he received the robbery of the last few years at that point in time when he was awarded a draw. Him being the Golden Boy fighter, the judges were giving him rounds for eating leather.(that is another topic)

Guzman can be an awesome boxer at times. At other times, he simply wastes his talent. He would be a tough outing for any welterweight right now. Hopefully he can keep his sh!t together and not let the talent he has left go to waist.

Guzman at his best, was probably the best guy in weight classes that also had Marquez, Pacquaio, Soto, Barrera, and Morales. He toyed with Soto when he fought him, and still won comfortably on my card. A shame Bob Arum reneged on giving the winner of Soto vs Guzman a shot at Pacquiao.

If by 'toyed' you mean running his ass off for 12 rounds and completely avoiding any kind of actual fight, then yes, he toyed with Soto. Much the same way Spadafora 'toyed' with Manfredy. There's boxing and there's running. Guzman RAN.
