Vote here for Fighter of the Year.

    Poll coming.

There will be some boxers in the poll that not everybody agrees with, but try and understand for something like this it's best to include as wide a range of fighters as possible.

    Poll is up.

If you believe someone who is not in the poll deserves it, post his name.

    Proksa?
    Bute?

Then you can also throw Golovkin, Pirog and Huck in there.

    No Martinez either?

Proksa won four fights in 2011, two against decent opponents by stoppage: in Germany against Sebastian Sylvester and in Spain against Pablo Navascues.

I was impressed by Grzegorz when I saw the way he "turned it up" for a nice KO against Navascues (despite a hostile crowd and home referee) to become European champion. And then he destroyed Sylvester in Germany.

I knew some wouldn't agree with Lucian Bute, but he had three successful title defenses: two impressive KO wins over decent fighters, and the widest decision win I've ever seen over Glenn Johnson. It's not easy to win virtually every round against The Road Warrior.

    Viloria.

Demolishing a p4p rated fighter when he was the underdog.

Ward, Donaire etc were all favourites and it was easy to see they were most probably going to win their defining fights of 2011.

    Rios fought 3 times.

Won his belt and was in a war with Acosta.

It was supposed to have been tough fight and was briefly with Antillon.

Another good and exciting fight against Murray.

All happened this year, I'm not even that big of a fan of his but
