Because most Heavyweights nowadays do need to go see Weight Watches.

Might seem a bit out there, but a change in the weight divisions could add a bit of spice.

    Welterweight 150lb
    Middleweight 162lb
    Light Heavyweight 175lb
    Cruiserweight 190lb
    Heavyweight 230lb
    Eagleweight 230lb+

Back in the more interesting days of Heavyweight fighters were under 230. Don't call the next division super-heavyweight (as would take shine off heavy) but I think it was Shooto who coined the term Eagleweight.

Also as above drop super-middleweight and junior-middleweight.

Stupid idea . . . the problem is not the biggest guys are so good its that the not as big guys are so bad. Trust me this crappy era will pass someday! Americans will be **** for a long time and as time goes on the boxers from all countries will improve and we will see the end of this type of so called "super heavyweight Era" patience my friend . . .patience!

BTW . . . why eagleweight? why not Jumboweight?

Does an eagle actually weigh more than 230 pounds?

    :nono that is 300+

  8. What a bad idea. The last thing we need is another division with more belts.
Look at the top 10 contenders. Many of them are not super big. Denis Boytsov is 6'1"
    Povetkin is 6'2"
    Arreola is 6'3"
    Adamek is 6'1"
Size doesn't even matter. Really. Vitali would still be good if he was 5'11"
Being big doesn't mean your going to be good. Helenius and Dimitrenko are proving that. Also, the HW title is supposed to be THE GLORY division and the biggest prize in fighting so we cant have a division after that. If Mike Tyson was still fighting today no one would be saying anything because he would have no problem breaking Helenius in half.

In regards to being extra belts it would actually be 1 less belt as junior-middle and super-middle are taken out.

Eagleweight just because couldnt think anything else. If any human being who is going to be a boxer cannot get under 230lb (maybe 240) then they are to fat, simple as that.

I like the name Eagleweight, maybe for a new lower division though. I don't think they need a division for over 230 as much as they need better fighters under 230. Too many heavyweights are just bloated looking power lifter types now, and seem to have spent more time working on their traps and lats then on their fighting skills.

I do think it is definitely time to get rid of divisions under 125.
