Who's the better WBA regular belt holder, Povetkin or Haye?

  1. Personally I say Povetkin. His activity is superb and he's defending his title against genuine contenders while Haye fought nonsense men like Audley Harrison. Povetkin's victory over Chagaev I think we can all agree as well as far better than any victory Haye has.

I'm not sure I'd say they are better. Byrd was shot, and coming off a bloody KO from Klitschko, Chambers was spanking him the 1st 5 rounds then suddenly stopped throwing and let Povetkin back into the fight. Also that was years ago. Since then he fought a string of bums and didn't even look impressive. Chagaev was also coming off a beatdown from Wlad and looked like crap previous fight with Meehan leading up to to Povetkin. So he gets a belt and then tries to make a fight with ancient Holyfield, then Boswell and now a blown up CW from his own promoter, Huck. Not exactly "contenders"

Haye fought a shot Barrett, then got a gift against Valuev, beat a shot Ruiz and had that fixed staring match, I mean fight with Fraudley then got in the ring with the real champ finally and took his loss that he had coming. Something Povetkin/Atlas is still too afraid to do, 3+ years later.

Both Haye and Povetkin had their belts handed to them by Sauerland, I say it's a wash at this point.

Povetkin's reign as a titleholder is already better than Haye's.

But if you have confronted both guys Haye would be so much better.

Also I don't think Povetkin can be that equal matchup for Wlad as Haye was. Sure, David wasn't willing to fight, but his body movement, reflexes looked great. Wlad had a lot of trouble hitting him in that fight. Povetkin would probably take almost everythong Wlad throws and won't get past Wlad's jab many times

Haye wasn't the "regular" WBA champion. He was the only WBA champion. Povetkin ducked Wlad but got his belt anyway, Haye at least beat a beltholder to get his, and lost it to the best heavyweight in the world.

povetkin has the better hw record, but haye was a world champion, by taking the belt off a legitimate title holder. Povetkin is no more of a world champion than a intercontinental belt holder

  7. Valuev was not a legitimate title holder, that belt belonged to Chagaev who funny enough Povetkin beat.

Hayes title was more legit though Klitschko beating Chagaev could have made Wlad the WBA champ

Haye beat a reigning champ for a more real belt than Povetkin

But Povetkin did beat a very good fighter in Chagaev and beat a better challenger in Boswell than Audley though both never really had a chance or were ever in the fight

Povetkin may very well have the better scalps but at least Haye got in the ring with Wlad

I dont like either fighter but I wanna see Povetkin make real fights

But before that Wlad beat Chagaev xD so technically Wlad should have been WBA champ long time ago;P

The only champion is the same as the regular champion. A regular champion is elevated to super when he unifies a belt with another org. You're wrong.

Both won a paper belt, courtesy of Sauerland

If you feel the concept of a super champion and regular champion is justified, then you'd be right. But then you'd be a moron.

Although I'd agree that both were/are paper champions.

Never said it's justified, just stating what are facts according to WBA rules and definitions.

******ed thread. Haye was THE ONLY WBA champ. Just like Wlad is now.

Povetkin has literally ducked Wlad many times now and never even acknowledged Vitali exists. Over his many years as a pro HW he has fought nobody special or even remotely prime. He also never tried to make a fight with Haye when he was champ.

Yet you Klit lovers all defend him over Haye? I find this hard to understand. I know it's not about race, cos there is NO WAY any of you are racist pieces of **** who wanna keep the black man down. So I guess I'm at a loss here scrambling for reasons why you love ***** ***** Povetkin but hate Warrior G Haye.

    :think
