i mostly agree with u . but i deffo not agree with u sayin martinez v cintron was competive . martinez wooped him . cintron even talked his way outta a knockout!! cintron got ko'd that fight martinez beat him as far as im concerned.

n martniz resume really isnt nething special . i like the pavlik win . i like wut he showed in the cintron fight .

the first p will fight even no he lossed it helped him . he had sum garbage fights at 160 that should have taken place at 154.

 

Most of you are given Martinez way to much credit. I've seen his last fight and he did not look that damn great to me. Cotto definitely have a chance against him, if he sticks with boxing and not trying to Brawl with him, considering Martinez is the bigger and harder hitter.

Yeah. He's a better fighter I think, but the size and power of Martinez would ultimately be his undoing. He'd do very well though.

 

it would be a good close fight at 154 . i still pick martinez i think he will be to much for cotto to handle in this point of his career. but i would never count cotto out he gots skills and he fought pacman and that pacman fight experience will really help him if they ever meet

 

Martinez would be a rough fight for Cotto, but if Cotto fought smart and used his jab, he could be very competitive. I think he's better than Sloppy Sergio from a technical standpoint.

 

I notice people here tend to bandwagon...A guy has a great 1 punch KO over Williams and he is p4p the best ever! The same guy starts looking human in his last fight and the threads go up mid-fight: "Sergio is overrated"

A fighter like Cotto will ALWAYS have a chance against a guy with Sergio's resume. I am not buying the p4p **** just yet. The main thing Sergio has going for him is his SIZE over Cotto. Other than that, he is not exactly invincible.

I would not be surprised if Cotto shows Martinez just how much better a fighter he is than Paul Williams or a tipsy Pavlik :good

Great match up. Cotto the underdog but his textbook well schooled style gets him far. Will need to think about it more

 

Martinez is faster than Cotto PLUS the bigger stonger man. Of course Cotto is tight technically and Martinez can be sloppy but he has to many advantages, Martinez beats him to the punch and cotto will break when Martinez comes on strong late.

 

I'd tend to agree that Cotto is better from a technical standpoint; Martinez can be sloppy at times and doesn't always have the tightest of defenses.

However, Sergio has advantages in all physical attributes; speed, size, strength and reach, as well as being the harder hitter. Stamina wise I'd call it even, given they've both shown to be deficient in fights previously.

I'd say it's Sergio's fight to lose, with Cotto very much an underdog, but an outside chance to pull it off.

 

If Martinez's superior size and speed weren't too much for Cotto at 154lb he could do it. I think Cotto's a better boxer. Cotto actually gave Pacquiao a lot of problems and was winning the two rounds he got KD in. I'd have to give Martinez the edge but Cotto would have a chance at 154lb.
