    Coatbridge’s Ricky Burns has been voted BoxRec News’ Boxer of the Year 2011 – a repeat of his victory in the same category last year.

    Young Boxer of the Year – George Groves (Must be 23 or under on 31/12/2010)
    Fight of the Year – Kevin Mitchell WRSF8 John Murray (Fights between two Brits)
    Upset of the Year – Amir Khan LPTS Lamont Peterson (Fight must include a Brit)
    International Fighter of the Year – Andre Ward
    International Fight of the Year – Miguel Cotto WRTD10 Antonio Margarito

    Disagree with both their fights of the year there. Watched Murray Mitchell back the other day and it was good but not great. Suprising and poetic might be a better description. Cotto Vs Margo was toally one sided- a great performance but not a great fight.

    Cotto V's Margarito was more a great moment and closing a chapter rather than a great fight. Concepcion V's Marquez 1 was the best fight and I agree with Jeff that Walsh V's Appleby was the best domestic fight, Webb V's Aaron was better than Mitchell V's Murray too imo.

    Appleby Walsh was irrefutably fight of the year. Cotto Margo was not fight of the year.

    I can understand the other picks.

    He does every time he fights a top opponent. Don't let the suits try to push a **** or undeserving fighter in front of Ricky. Ricky is a WORLD class fighter who should be finding his level with the BEST in the division not domestic wannabes or Europeans.
