Um i do box mate, but you only have to look at the shot and compare it to the left hand Martinez knocked williams out cold with to see that it wasnt a full power shot

How does judging the force put into a punch make me a coward?

Truth is I dont believe Barker was hurt badly by that punch but he just didnt want to take any more and looked for a way out of the fight and took it

No ofc he wasn't badly hurt - he went down to the canvas screaming in pain for nothing, and he tried getting back up but he had wobbly legs and got counted out. Stop being so negative. And saying "I do box mate" doesn't mean I actually believe you box.

That punch severely perforated his eardrum.

 You spastic. He was a bit competitive. He won three rounds and got knocked out. And he'd beat the guy who is arguably number 2 in the stronger division above him? Barker hasn't beaten a top 20 middleweight.

well i could show you pictures but im not that insecure to have to prove it to someone

im not denying he had a perforated eardrum but youd need some sort of advanced tecnhology to say the punch that put him down did that, was he hurt? yes but the punch that ended the fight wasnt a devastating knockout punch. im allowed to have an opinion, its not my fault you dont agree

People go on about how Ortiz quit against maidana but i support him on that because he went back into the corner and said he didnt want to continue to take the punishment, Barker on the other hand looked like he just plain quit in the round and went down, him quitting against Kessler in sparring goes onto prove my point dont you think?

So JN43, you join this site in March 11 and decide on Xmas day to spend your day searching for the perfect thread to re-start a debate on, so you look back on all the threads until you came across this one from 4 years ago!

    God help you.

It is an interesting read, to be honest i didnt know Barker was Kesslers sparring partner until now but to go onto try and make Barker out to be a force at Supermiddleweight is laughable

Im actually bored so have been going backwards from the last page on this forum currently on page 3295. Really funny to see people predictions and general feelings about fights.

Well we all know that blow was not a love tap but still Barker isnt beating a bigger, badder, meaner version of himself:smoke

Slight over exaggeration  still he was landing a lot harder shots and the punch didnt look as hard as the previous ones and didnt land cleanly

Also Martinez is more like Calzaghe style wise, Hands down southpaw

This is more fun Im learning about boxing. some things Ive learned
    Barker sparred Kessler.
    Rafael Marquez was p4p rated.
Bhop was in the top 4 or 5 P4p rated going into the fight with Calzaghe.
Alot of people thought Kasidis would have beaten Pacquiao when they were at 135 and 130 respectively.
    and lots more :good

Sorry i was describing Barker as a smaller less aggresive version of Kessler (still not a great comparison). I suppose all it takes is a punch landing in the right place, im prepared to give Darren the benifit of the doubt.

Ah i see i read it a little bit wrong, still you gave me a good idea for a thread  and yeah your entitled to your opinion, just dont think the shot that landed was a Williams type scenario, just looked like Barker crumbled and didnt want to continue
