Yeah, boxrec's ranking system is very difficult to understand, but for the most part, they are accurate to a fault. when guys like Mormeck eek out close wins over decent guys they're not given so much credit as when guys like Fury KO nobodies like Pajcik.

But at least this system allows us a nuetral perspective based off who's fighting who and how and when they were winning their bouts.

This shows where we're at in the HWT Division. Huck already was beat clearly at CW once so what is this all about?... Mormeck, Banks, Huck? Very sad undeed...

 

Come to think of it......going by common opponents his HW resume is decent by default....having similar wins over guys that Arreola has beaten, Saliffe and many other B and Cevel HWs have fought.

Cans for certain, but names and regional contenders at their best.
Still though I gotta think this is a human slight towards Haye whom he replaced......Huck in essence seems to have emerged simply to spite Vitali or Haye b/c the fight wasn't made.

For sure, something is illegit with Huck @ #3.......13 an arguement could be made, but 3......Absurd considering both Helenius and Haye have marquee wins as does Potvetkin, Adamek, and Barrett.:-(

 

I'm suprised Huck chose Povetkin to fight and not a Klitschko, he'd be payed alot more for those fights with the same result.

It's an in-house Sauerland fight, and there's no love lost between them and the K2.

 

I wouldnt put much stock its a point system for career not at the weight

his points from multiple titles and defenses at cruiser gives him plenty of points because what current heaavies out there have much title experience

there are guys with way more points at the weight

its a flawed system in this regard

 

It's probably as simple as this: Huck had a lot of defenses in a short period of time, including highly ranked Lebedev recently (boxrec doesn't understand robberies). He probably keeps a good fraction of his points moving up, and the HW contenders tend to have thin resumes. Clearly the CW-HW jump should carry a much larger penalty, it should be calibrated so that a guy like Huck ranks outside the top 10.
