joe calzaghe: I would have beaten ward

Theres no snap in his punches. He has a half-descent short left hook but besides that theres nothing there at all. His jab is weak too. I think his footwork and inside game is really good though.

Lets be honest, the super 6 tournament was full of joke fighters. Kessler was the favourite going in I think. Froch is wank, Ward is good, Dirrell is wank, Abraham was a blown up middleweight and Taylor lost the plot. Should have been called 'average 6' :yep

Ward tells Bute to fight some A-Class fighters before he can get a shot, but Ward hasnt fought anyone above B-Class himself.

 

Its a good job too because his isnt too different to Calzaghes resume.

 

Calzaghe throws a lot of punches, it is that simple.

Only a counterpuncher, with devastating and concussive power can beat Calzaghe.

I believe Ward is todays P4P number one, just ahead of Mayweather, only I cannot imagine Calzaghe losing a round (providing he boxed clever) to the likes of Froch or Hatton.

Calzaghe is the best fighter to have ever existed in boxing and with the sports popularity one the wane, perhaps the best there ever will be.

Calzaghe only lost rounds whilst showboating/clowing in his prime or whilst suffering KDs when caught cold early on.

I agree, but really, other than Bute, who else was out there in the SMW division? I'm not saying the tournament was the end all be all, but Ward won it pretty easily. It's what an elite fighter is supposed to do, imo. If Ward had struggled, then that would be different.

Dawson himself said in an interview with The Ring that he many felt he lost to journeyman Johnson. Have you forgotten how badly hurt Dawson was?

You must be butthurt, because Calzaghes career is a winning 24 world title fights having won every belt in the division he worked in and then going up in weight and beating the top man in the division above
